By "picking up" do you mean buying, or do you mean you're going to drive it from one dealer lot to another? If the former is the case, then congrats :6

I haven’t noticed foresters being any worse we do them on legacy’s and Impreza’s just as much.

yeah one of our techs saved all the HG he did for a while and he had like 20 hanging on the wall. :l theirs been a lot of quad cam and phase 2 motors lately that have had internal failures. Subarus arnt that bad of cars i just wouldnt buy one because of the shitty MPG and i have no need for AWD.

no. i was bitching about not having TIME.

im puttin the plate on monday, banks were closed today for some reason so i couldnt get it today. boss tried getting me a temp credit deal so i could have it for the weekend, but the bank he uses for that was closed. full exhaust is first on my mods list, kid that used to work there before me did the same thing + handling goodies, reflashed it with a cobb map, tuned it for a night, and made 285 wheel. didnt think exhaust + tune would make such gains, but hey, more power to ya

You're getting old. It happened to me too. :-\

I've thought about modding my Jeep or putting a lift on it or this or that or an exhaust because the 4.7 sounds good with exhaust, but ---- that. I want that thing to be quiet, reliable, comfortable, clean, and keep me cold in the summer. I've owned too many shitbox Hondas with no A/C, power steering, radio, or interior in general. :1 Maybe one day I'll own one of those again, but it damn sure won't be my daily driver. You ever driven out of state in a gutted Honda in the middle of a 120* summer with no A/C? Not ------- cool.....not ------- cool at all. :3 What's even worse was watching my gf(at the time)basically pass out from exhuastion when we got home. I felt real cool. :l

ill be able to pay it off faster than the plan im on, i just want to be out of the 14 second range, and be able to scoot around turns at 104% throttle

---- the first summer i lived in vegas the only car we had was my gutted crx. by gutted i mean 2 seats, steering wheel and a gauge cluster.
that ---- is not fun. it's still my daily driver, but i think i'm getting too old for it. the problem is i've driven around for 4 years without a dash now it feels weird to drive a car with one.
------- ricer=me cept i don't drive like one

the kid is Full of ----.. I worked for subaru for 4 years and never saw anyone get gains like that..

a stock STi makes 220-230

a WRX mid 170's , low 180's

with a Access-port , intake and a downpipe my brothers STi make 260WHP , his previous WRX witht he same mods made 225Whp...

My dad runs a 05 Legacy GT as winter car.. Accessport , air intake , Cobb bars , H&R spacers , Karboy Short Shift and a perrin top mount.. No idea on power , but froma roll it will pull on stock Sti's

Still a wicked car though.. tranny issues / flywheel are predominantly 2002 / early 03 cars...

I took a WRX wagon to the strip one night and ran 14.3's @ 95-93... Launched at 3500 with a side step..

good car , nice choice

exhaust will be handled n/a until i get a few bucks in the bank clear, turboing a carb when you already have it = rather cheap to do.

i can get it running for maybe $20 out of my pocket to go carb, vs a couple hundred to go efi.

i was unemployed in those posts, dealing with a piled up stack of bills. look at the dates. besides, it said that going efi was failboat. efi is for pussies, holleys holsets and hookers are all i need.

as the unhappy owner of the car in that picture (platinum silver metallic, 04 wrx) all i can say is youve got about 75 launches per clutch, and shift like the gear lever is made out of glass. in 38,000 miles im on my 2nd engine, 2 transmission, and 3rd clutch.
with the stock turbo you will get in the LOW 13s, but NEVER break 250 whp.
enjoy your new money pit, youl realize its no faster than a turbo honda, but 4 times as expensive :-[

right, thats because there is HUNDREDS of stock td04 wrx's making over 300whp. right. learn to ------- drive, wrx's were not made for launching. they are a sporterized impreza, not a ------- sti. who cares if its 4x more than a turbo honda? how is the honda any better?

Re: picking up a new car tomorrow. well, not 'new', buuuttt...

im just saying, they're DEFINANTLY fun little cars. you just gotta be gentle with them. if you plan on modding it at all, just remember; dont boost more than 17 psi on the stock turbo, AND get an uppipe before you do anything with it.
on mine, i had an equal length header, catless uppipe, 3" catless turboback exhast, and a boost controller set at 17psi. after i put in the exedy stage 1 clutch it was rippin off 13.15@105 :y they're fun little cars man, i hope you have good luck with it

Big Pipe 03-09-2008 04:17 PM

Re: picking up a new car tomorrow. well, not 'new', buuuttt...

nog edit, the best way to launch it is to dump the clutch around 5500-6000 rpm, you wanna spin the front tires a little so you dont spin the clutch :y
