Default painting 3 piece wheels

any ideas on how to paint just the centers of my wheels, they are a true 3 piece wheel so the center is sandwiched and welded between two halves of the rim.

im thinking i will just make a sheet metal funnel to fit tight around the center and then spray it. but i dont know how it will come out.

also do you guys think i should polish the lip first or after painting?

the lip is really deep and a half inch wide at the bottom, and i think that it would be a huge pain in the *** to mask, like really small pieces of tape, i dont think it would come out right.

mask it with a big piece of masking tape then line it with a razor.. then just lift off the excess.....

i suck at life so vaseline never worked for me.. masking tape always did...
