opinions on stock clutch disc and aftermarket pp??
has anyone run a stock disc with an aftermarket pp? what were your opinions? i bought an act clutch disc and pp off some kid for dirt cheap, i went to install it and the clutch disc didn't fit, it was out of an a1 tranny and he told me it was out of a ys1 :P anyways, so i just went ahead and used the pp with a basically brand new stock disc. i havnen't had a chance to rip on it yet b/c i've got to put a tps on her :P a lot of people have told me they grip really good like that but i was just wondering if anyone has personal experience with it. i'm just a little skeptical, after having a slipping stock clutch for 6 mos., i just want something that's really going to bite :P

ive done it, it will last a good while, but why not throw a act street disc in there just to be safe, they run about 60$.
they look identical to a stock disc but they have a higher heat resistance.

I ordered a ACT Street Kit from prostreetonline I think it was and I got a stock (Daiken) clutch with it, it grips alot better than my previous clutch that I blew up (BTW: STOCK CRX MOTOR). It was 230 for an ACT PP & Clutch with a Pliot bearing, and of course stickers!

i have the xtoo act clutch kit.
if you read on the box it says 'stock disc' i don't think they did anything to it, except manufacture it themselves.
the thing you run into with a stock disc.. it doesnt grip each gear really hard. i grips, but there is a noticeable different from the upper model street discs. it is nice for street driving though. and it stills holds the power.
i havent had any problem with my clutch, except the clearance. it was too thick right out of the box

Full Exedy Stage 1 with a Fidanza 7 lb flywheel here. I smoked my stock clutch after about 3000 boosted miles and it only had about 35K on it. Even a stage 1 engages a lot harder and sooner than a stock one, I was surprised. I wanted to go with a Spec or ClutchExpress but the Exedy was a great local deal with the flywheel.
Point: Stock clutch sucks for boost. Go full aftermarket.

But the stock pp would not grip as hard as the act.
