Re: opinions on heating springs

cons: uneven tread wear, shitty ride, shitty handling
pros: ?

your probably gonna get sick of it and wind up buying springs anyways.

Re: opinions on heating springs

We cut & torched the springs ona friends 82 RX7, and the results were good.

We only took off one coil, then torched & bent them so the last coil would be flat (to sit in the perch). The result was actually good. The ride is stiffer (shortening coil springs increases their stiffness), but not excessive, and the ride is level. Bad dampnerrs causes bouncyness, not the springs. Any spring with a bad dampener will be bouncy.

Well i'd just get some cheap-ass ebay coilovers before cutting...they are SO cheap and sometimes last a while before breaking. My friends been slammed on some "big dollar" $120 dropzones for about 3 yrs and other than blown-ass shocks, they work just fine. I have a set to and after a year they are alright, amazingly the spring didnt sag at all (i compared them to a new set), which is even what most decent springs do after a while.

cutting springs is not that bad of a thing. as long as you dont cut them more than an inch or an inch and a half.

the springs on da camarer are cut in the front... it looks fine :)

Re: opinions on heating springs

cutting springs aint that bad
and camber is the result of lowering your car, not because u torched or cut your springs
ull get camber no matter which way you chose to lower the car
