opinions on heating springs
 

I want to lower my bmw about 1-1/2 in. I have always been against cutting and heating springs to lower a car but I also always drove honda's so I was worried about performance. I know the best way to lower it would be to buy springs but I'm feeling lazy and just want to put a torch to them. Have you ever done this? What were the resaults?

i would do it if i was you, but you should pour gas on the springs to help lubricate the shrinking of the metal.

doesnt mean you can half ass on something as simple as buying lowering springs :-\
