Default opinions on car

hey guys im looking into getting a small hatch for daily driver, and came across this, http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/car/266686250.html

it sounds like a pretty solid deal but im looking for some input from vw owners, just wondering if the trannies and engine are worth a ----, im thinking im going to take a look at it this weekend.
any input would be appriciated, other then pics of tub girl. :1

A good vw is one that is a smoldering pile of scrap iron. No watercooled VW is good. No if's and's or but's. Seriously. Get your wallet and grab your ankles. ---- those Hilter sleds.

the car has a rebuilt motor and wouldnt get more modified then it already is, do they have any major reliability issues?

and **** i got the fc to make up for homosexuality

calling it an fc instantly makes it homo. either way the only way its not homo is if theres an ls1 under the hood.

They run fine, ***** a ****** ------. If you buy it, throw a cage on it, the body wont withstand a weak side impact.

yeah the golfs are sharp looking cars imo and you cant beat 1800 bucks, with a pieced together turbo kit and decent fuel management, i just dont have any experience with them and was curious about reliability

they're pretty solid, especially the 8v's. stock 8v motors last up to 300k consistantly with normal maint. Trannys arn't the stoutest things on earth, but every system is going to have a weakpoint.
