Re:Opinion on Republican Convention with Bush

I really liked the way he planned his speach. Of course the things he talked about were inspiring, but that's what the speach is meant to do. I thought he did a good job in laying down the overall values that the republicans stand for- putting the ball in every citizens hands, and letting them run with it. You keep your money, do what your gonna do, and if you end up a worthless piece of ----, it's your fault, not the governments. America wouldn't be the most productive nation in the world if we weren't given the oppertunity to control our own destiny, and that's what I believe.

The worst thing I think the republicans are doing at this point is saying "we're doing all we can do against domestic terrorism" and the fact is that our borders still need lots of help. That's my only gripe with them. :-\

Well said. I really enjoyed all the speeches for the most part. But Giuliani's speech I enjoyed the most. I hope he's the next Republican candidate in 2008 and ensure that we won't have Mrs. Clinton as a president.

I think in 2008 we should throw Colon Powell at those panzies. haha. (Oh my god, the white republican wants to nominate the first black president???? :P)
I think the democrats would just watch him win, because no democat could beat him IMO. 4 more of Bush, 8 with a black Colon ;D, and the world is back on track. ;)

the bottom line is that the troubles we are dealiong with in this country are not george bushs fault, it is that of bill clintons administration. clinton sold our country down the river so that our economy would prosper under him but by doing so he buried us now as countries realize we nolonger want to honor these make shift agreements, i saw bush is doin a good job with the crap hes been dealt. there is definately a time delay for for the reprocussions,. nothign happens instantly

Well said. Even though i dont live in the USA I agree that for the most part the current in power admin is really just cleanin up after the previous administration. this happens in almost every country that changes leadership frequently.

Re:Opinion on Republican Convention with Bush

I myself am very much into politics. Lately everyone I come across that says they are going to vote for Kerry, I ask them one question: Which policy of Kerry's makes you wanna vote for him. Usually you'll get a blank look, and after a couple seconds they'll say, "Uh, he's not bush". lol.
Perfect, so your voting for someone that you have no idea of thier past senate record or they're agenda? What a way to vote for a President.

I think Michael Moore started this "He's not Bush" way of voting. Talk about sheep. Think for yourself. ::)

If your gonna vote for a President, no matter who it is, please at least make YOUR OWN JUDGEMENT. ;)

Sounds like a clip I saw on http://www.brainterminal.com. The guy went out in New York the day that Clinton's book came out. Every person this guy interviewed admired Clinton and said what a great president he was. Then towards the end he starts asking the people what specific policies or what he accomplished while in office that made them like him. Everyone of them didn't have a clue what to say or gave him a shitty answer. Like you said people should make their own informed choice. Instead of letting some media personality, collegue, ect make that decision for them.

Guys, make it simple and easy on yourself. First of all the media doesn't tell the truth about a lot of stuff so you can't trust 'em for anything and people are gradually figuring this out... duh :) I'm voting for a man that loves this country and that "is the same on sunday morning as he is on saturday night". The only reason Bush has a bad name is because the media gave him one and people believe this stuff... I have an aunt that's obsessed with CNN and you can really see her point of view and she doesn't even know why she believes what she believes. I can list some of Kerry's beliefs and it's obvious that he is only doing what the MASS PUBLIC want him to be. And I'm not here to start a fight, but this man has no clue how to run this great nation... It will be a very poor decision... I swear it. :P

Talking Points Memo
Who is winning this week?
So far Pres. Bush and the Fox News Channel are emerging as victors this week. A variety of polls show that the President is seeing a bounce in the polls, and Fox News Channel continues to dominate the television ratings.

I even asked my step-father who he's going to vote for, he said Kerry. I asked him why, and he didnt have any reason other than he's always been a Democrat and always voted Democrat, no matter what they said they believed or didnt believed.

My personal opinion, I think Kerry would limp through his presidency and not do much. The only thing that worries me about Bush is his policy on invading foreign nations. If they're not a threat to us or our allies, I say don't do anything with them. Can't save the world, hard as we try.

Oh, Democrats are going nowhere but to Communism.. so

VOTE FOR BUSH

Exactly. :o

Sinister, the reason why we invaded Iraq wasn't because of our "war on terrorism" although it helps the cause. We invaded Iraq because the 19th U.N. resolution said that if Saddam refused to let the weapons inspectors do their inspections, there would be military action. Bush saying it was because of terrorism was wrong. It was because of the U.N.'s resolution. When it came time to do what we (and the UN) layed out, we were the only ones that held true to our word. ;) (and the smaller countries that are there with us)
If going to Iraq was just because Bush wanted to, you wouldn't have any other countries there.
