man, I wanted an el-camino for the longest time in high school. My neighbor had a super-sport that just sat in his barn. Had 4 flat tires, a pretty trashed interior, but a real sexy 396 (if I remeber right, its been about 5 years...)sittin under the hood. The body on that bitch was flawless.

onto the real subject, datsun 510 and put a rotary in it. 8)

not realy, its rear wheel drive. but its not good for "driftz0ring" seeing as how it doesnt have the torque to break the tires loose and keep em loose unless you want to over rev the hell out of it. we have local homo drift compitions. and the people in old irocs and ---- have the most control of the cars.

it all depends on the drivers style :1

in japan both the gt's and gt-s's are used.

i had a video of a dude drifitng in a gt, then getting out. and into the gts and pulls off the same exact ----.

no no, what hes saying is that.. thats a 4th gen front wheel drive model. and the others that you are refering to are 3rd gen rear wheel drive. wich i dont see why people just dont use the older celica gts rear wheel drive cars or the old celica supras.

The reason why the AE86 is the platform everyone wants is there was something funky with the suspension design setup and it made breaking the rear end out with control really easy. Its why they only have 100hp or so because thats all you need to have fun in them.

so just because it takes alot more skill to drift a fwd. and theres alot more room for error. it means u cant do it?

and no. you dont have to use handbrake excessively to drift. people in japan have been drifting front wheel drives since they invented drifting.
it takes alot more technique and skill. but once u master it. fwd drifting is alot better than rear wheel drive drifting.

Thats ass dragging, its not drifting. My Mustang doesn't need a running start for it to get sideways. :-\

ass dragging or not. if a dude in a fwd drive car can own a guy in a rwd car then more power to them.

its possible. and im looking for that video right now. ill host it and post it as soon as i find it. the guy barely even uses handbrake. he just taps it to start off the turn.. and then after that it takes alot of skill to keep it from wiping out.

dude. post some pictures or videos of your mustang even if it is stock. do you have flowmasters? all i saw was the one picture u posted. did i miss any others u posted?

thanks.

There's some pics of my car. I'll post a pretty funny video next week that has some pics of my car. Right now the video is on VHS so when its burned to DVD I'll post it. I have a little teaser (becuase its all I could fit on my digital camera :-\ ) but I can't seem to get it to upload, I dunno if its even worth watching yet though. The story behind it is ------- awesome but I want to wait to have the whole video before I post it.

Re: old drifters?

HONDA TUNING: Can you explain your e-brake technique?
KEISUKE HATAKEYAMA: The first thing is not to tune your e-brake so that it’s too sensitive. Some guys think they have to have the brakes ultratight to drift in FF cars but that's not true. You need to have a lot of slack until the e-brake fully kicks in at the very top. You need that partial braking zone so you can ride it. As for practice methods, start by practicing your turns using the e-brakes. When you start drifting, make sure you don't stop the rear tires with the side brakes. Just use the brakes to turn the direction of the car, not to stop the rear tires. That's just sliding your car with momentum.

Sure sounds like ebrake pulling to me.....

Here's the video, its not really that great, but the story behind why we're doing it is pretty cool. we literally did over $50,000 worth of damage in one day 8)

i dont get it ??? that video wasnt even a teaser. it was more like a snipet :1
damn it, im too tired to think. so im stomped >:(

best way to get that rubber off is with the 3m scuff pad. dry at first.. lightly to get the big stuff. then wet it and push a little harder.
then just glaze her when ur done, a good wax. and she's back in service
