oil pan repair or get a new one?
man this search funcion ------ sucks... it jus throws a blank page and i can't even search for ---- LOL
help a brotha out. i cracked my oil pan last night and need it running by tonight. should i drop it and get it welded by a shop for a fast fix, or will jbquik get the job done if i cleaned the surface well enough. but i dont wanna have to bullshit with it later with this jbquick chipping off or some ----. my car is dumped to the dirt..
should i jus get a new pan. weld it, jbweld it. i ------ hate my new mounts for lowering my engine 1" causing this to happen...

Why even ask the question?
Obviously if you cracked it you must have hit it hard, causing some sort of dent or imperfections.
You say youre slammed to the dirt, why would you even consider jd welding it?
Welding it is probabyl gonna be the least recomended choice here, because itll cost more than a used oem oil pan that you can grab for $20 from any pick a part yard

its an sr20det rwd from jdm land. i can't jus go to my pick up sticks n grab one. it has to be ordered. and how would welding a spot less then .5" cost me more then anything? its a small crack from a smackin the ground goin 2mph thru a street light that had a dip. i heard it when it happened but didnt think much of it. its a slow drip but over night it all drained out. i even drove it home after i realized it had the crack in it. im changing the mounts to re-raise the motor back to stock height as i have never had this problem before.
before the new mounts went it, the pan sat above the lower cross member which is what i usually scrape over bumps n what not. i dont give a ---- if i hit that as i always have anyway. when i put the new mounts on, it lowered the engine almost 1" putting the pan lower then the crossmember. but at the same time im running bigger wheels now so the whole car got raised so i thought it wouldn't have hit anything since it kinda compensated. engine went down, but car went up. i scraped the pan a few times n realized "yah, these mounts are gay". i ordered new ones, but the pan ended up crackin b4 i got a chance to get the new mounts in. so im jus tryin to fix mine in a way where it wont ---- up, not to worried bout hitting it again since my engine is gonna go back up to stock height.

Just weld the thing.
Most places wouldn't charge that much to weld a small crack as long as you do all of the prep work. Clean clean clean. Tide works wonders.
Is it aluminum or steel? If aluminum brush area and drill small holes at the ends of the crack.

found jb weld stick ---- thats like a putty, all u do is pinch n kneed it. prepped area nicely, splotched it on there, and hard as steel in 20mins. changed my mounts to re-raise the motor, threw oil in after an hour, and went to the street races right after and it held up fine. when i hit it with ---- it feels like the rest of the pan. it'll work til i get a new pan later. thanks for the help guys.
