I don't know if they have made b-series crate motors yet but I know they sell everything to assemble a full b20/vtec from the wiring harness to the block, heads, solenoids, everything. They might as well just sell crate motors. I totally agree that the b-series is like the new small block chevy. As for buying a k-series motor to be around 5 years from now in the honda scene I can also kinda see it going that way as well. The k-series motors may be relatively new but they have been around since 2001 so the cost of swaps and parts will probably begin to drop soon. I don't think honda will get rid of it in the production line anytime soon so the more out there the more prices will drop.

I'm honestly not too sure what a crate motor is. If I'm right, then Dart makes them.

Crate motor would usually be something along the lines of a ready to run longblock, something you bolt on accessories and fuel lines to and fire up.

Lots of companies did them and well none do it anymore, they proably sold 5 total compared to 500 crate cheby motors. Honda owners are poor except the big power turbo crowds and all motor peps

B series motors are running out and this is coming from someone who imports motors for a living. Really the only stuff left is type r motors and gsr swaps. b16a's have been -----d out to the point that there is almost none left

Are the dart B blocks any good? You don't do sleeve jobs in the domestic world, you just buy a better block if you need to.

You don't sleeve V8's, not unless you've really fucked one up and even then it's only to bring it back down in bore size.

I will let you know about the dart blocks. a buddy of mine has a b20/vtec with a t3/t4 turbo setup on it and just bought a dart block. he still needs to buy the internals before it will be dropped in but this kid makes bank so it won't be long.

And, uhm, they very much do sleeve domestic V8s. How do you think a 428 becomes a 620+ cid? I've watched Sam Barnes and his brother turn down Darton sleeves to fit for their dragsters a couple times over the years.

637ci is right around the biggest iirc.

in the 70's, international made a 602 cube straight 6 gas engine. only like 280hp, but roughly 600 ft lbs.

602 is the new 300

428 becomes a 620+ cube engine most of the time when you run an aftermarket block you can punch out that far and fit that big a crank in, I've never heard of anyone doing it with sleeves but hey, what do I know apparently?

Ford 460 SVO block has a 806cube stroker kit available.
