It's not killing the industry, it's killing thier profit margin. It makes more products more inexpensive to more consumers. There comes a point when your profit margin can hurt your overall service though. When manufacturers try to match low prices of a competitor, it usually equals less profit per product/service, which IS a bad thing for the consumers. It's a balance, but at some point you have to recognize that OBX really isn't a competitor of thiers. They are two different qualities. :-\ |

The guy with 500 hp had good luck with it.. But I don't know if i'm staying D-series...I may go B-series soon. And spending that much money for a D-series tranny would kinda suck if I went B-series in a few month's. |

They are not worthless though...good learning bases...and good for someone not wanting more then 200ish to 250ish if pushing a ZC hp from a stock honda engine that is cheap an replacable.
It's just I want some reliable 300ish to 400 hp |

holy ----.. they all but stopped selling the "first generation" piece of ------- ---- manifold... Usually when i type "b16 turbo manifold" into ebay's search, i get 450 different SSautochrome, now i get about 6.. a couple "revhard" manifolds, some assclown selling an HF as a "b seires turbo manifold" and these new OBX manifolds.
I'd buy one, they look ------- bad ass :O |

I keep changing my mind every day on what a d-series motor is worth. I have a shortblock that I was thinking about building but I just don't think its worth it. It seems like a lot of money and your not even going that fast. I've been ------- around with this d-series for a while and think about back in the days of my GSR where I built a turbo kit and was running 12's out of the box on street tires. We even just did my buddy's LS who just did a 12.7 street tires, and stock everything. When LS swaps are only $500 its hard to justify putting $1000 into a D-series just to keep up. In the end, depending on how fast you want to go, the B-series is actually cheaper. |

B's have just more potential.
And you can rev it to 8K+ rpms if you have a vtec head....and vtec oil-pump ;D(that's for the LS/VTEC). I also was thinking about building a D, but the money spend on it and ... is it really worth it?? I have like 3 blocks in my shed an A6 and 2 ZC's...I'll just have fun with them and boost them stock and build a LS/VTEC on the side |
