now for MY new car...

After searching and searching for a RX-7, 180sx, AE86 or a Civic that was either affordable or a dam 5spd, I landed this an AE 101. 1992 Toyota Trueno 4a-ge 20v. This car is nearly identical to the civic si. 4 wheel independent susension, BIG 4 wheel disc brakes, 160hp @ 7400rpms, (not sure of the tq yet in ft. lb) this car is the ----. I found this one online (just like I did my skyline) and called about it. The lady said it said twin cam 20v on the side of the car,(which it does) so she assumed it was a twin cam, and it was a 5spd. I said, as long as its what you say it is, consider it sold sight unseen. I went over to there house about 2 hours later and took it. anyways...onto the pics.

I wanted a AE86 real bad, but the cheapest I found was $4,000 unmodded, and the most expensive was $8g's before taxes and all that JDM bullshit. Im not happy with the way this thing looks, but I think its gonna grow on me. Body has quite a bit of sun damage, but no cancer, so thats a plus. Junkyard style O0

When i first pulled up, i thought, those are decent wheels. then i walk up and notice they were VOLKS!

I like looking at a 9K rpm tach.

and the money shot.
4A-GE 20v stock throttle bodies :)
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg

plans are first get a suspension and a brake system like no other. Then start with the usual I/H/E and then go from there. Im not sure if I wanna go boosted or NA with it. With a stock CR of 10.5:1 I might go N/A and see how it does. If I can pick up a 4A-GZE for cheap enough, I will probably just swap that in dump the SC and turbo the hell out of that. My priority is to get it to handle and stop on a dime first.

all for $2,000 ;)

someone asked me if everything was in japaneese, and i replied a while ago with "no, most is in english and jap. but you can usally make out what the store is before going in" and they didnt believe me. So just wonderin if anyone knows what this place might be ;)

to dam expensive. serisouly. anything turbo from the factory, unless you can find a deal where someone is leaving soon, and has to sell it soon is expensive (or out of my $2,000 price range, or needs a $500 inspection) I found a 180sx, red top, cusco suspension for $1700, needed a full exhaust, and a inspection. (another grand easy)

this car has everything paid till feb. '07. i got a good deal.

Put one of those Deluxe good quality JDM body kits on there and some one piece headlights and you'll be set to take over Japan with that.

I'd stick with the 20v and upgrade that with N/A parts, then keep the skyline as your turbo car. That way if the turbo one breaks down you can say "see, N/A is really more reliable" and vice versa.

wtf frank, are you gay of something??

for the price of both of those base model ---- bags, you coulda haver urself a nice turbo something...

what are u trying to accomplish??

being the only person from this site to live in japan and still not have a descent turbo ride?

god damn frank. end urself

well lets see her you roided up french ------ little bitch.
#1 a decent turbo vehicle over here is gonna run you about $4,000. thats a decent car, with a good JCI/GOJ, something NOT wrecked and frame damage. I dont have $4,000 for a car right now. none the less, 2 cars.
#2 I had to buy something quick. Living in japan, relyin on everyone else for rides, and with my budget, I had to get something quick. (hince the skyline, which is a pretty dam nice ride for me and my wife)
#3 I didnt exactly want my wife to be driving a fast turbo'd car as her first car in japan. to be truthful, neither did I. driving on the left side of the road, right hand drive isnt as easy as one would think it is. It takes some gettin used to.
#4 I wanted a toyota. I really wanted a AE86 but those run about $4,000 for an unmollested one. This car is nearly identical to a civic. Im happy with it
#5 how many cars have you had in the last 4 years. you probably havent even been driving for 4 years. I know for a fact these wont be my only cars while im here.
#6 I chose my vehicle well for what I wanna do. If I wanted a car thats gonna be built to living ---- N/A I have a more than perfect motor. When im ready for boost, its a matter of going to the junkyard and picking up a $500 4A-GZE motor and dropin her in. Who knows, im not to worried about messin with the motor just yet. I wanna make this thing handle first. ;)
#7 If I get busted once for either racing or drifting other than on the track, my license is gone and im not about to risk that. the fastest speed limit on the island is 80km. thats about 50mph.

want me to continue? the car is more than perfect for what I want. ;)

hotrex 07-02-2005 09:23 PM

Re: now for MY new car...

uh frank, ive been driving for 6 years and have owned 4 cars.

3 of which have been turbo.
ive had several turbo motors, and 4 turbo setups of my own never mind the assload i have built for others.

go ahead and try to insult me frank.
bottom line is i possess way more knowledge and skill than you do, and im god knows how much younger than you.

ive owned more turbo hondas than most of the people on this site, i turbo cars on the side for money, and i sure as ---- know if i lived in japan, i wouldnt be driving a n/a piece of ----.

Toyota Cavalier

The model was briefly sold in Japan by Toyota, under a company agreement with GM, badged as the Toyota Cavalier, with some notable differences. Besides the fact that it was right hand drive, the Toyota Cavalier also featured a leather shift knob and steering wheel, different taillights, power folding rear mirrors, side marker lights on the front fenders, and carpeting on the inside of the trunk lid. These parts are hard to obtain in America but remain highly desirable among hardcore Cavalier fans. Toyota Cavaliers were first sold in 1995 and were sold up until 2000.

Those 20v's are like the equivalent to a b16. High revving monsters with lil torque. They go for right around the same price for a 20v swap to a b16 cable swap. Not bad of a car but is the selection of cars pretty low out on Okinowa?

Haha.. Do I need to define the word 'satire' or 'sarcasm' for you? Thou shalt not be too retarded to notice when people are joking, for this will lead to them looking like a bitch who over-reacts. 8)
