noob with jetta Q's

So, it's nice to see that some one else was dumb enough to ask the hundred and one questions about turboing a jetta. I too have the 1.8 GLS turbo and everyone has been talking about how I need to get this and that done to it. I see that installing a BOV seems like a stupid idea unless I'm gonna throw an intake system on it too. Of course, why wouldn't I if I wanted to zip around a bit. I guess my question is this...in theory...how much time and money would I have to throw in to get that nice pshhh noise and actually be able to push out 12lbs of boost? Is it even worth it?

I look forward to the razzings and such... :-\

Well, your first mistake was buying a 1.8 turbo. It is full of fail. Get ready for a ----------ing education in modern automobile mechanics.

Second, you didnt post any pics of your girlfriend/sister/mom nude.

Third, if all you want is that PSSHH noise you are a ------- ricer. Go to vwvortex and communicate with those homos. They will steer you in the queer direction you seem to be heading.

I'm sorry, no gf, no sister, and you don't wanna see my mom naked.

I keep hearing about all these problems with the 1.8t. I also read on here that all those problems can be avoided BY TAKING CARE OF YOUR ------- CAR!! I'm not trying to defend VW hear at all, though. I'm a Honda kind of guy, still have one....it ate a deer though...

Third, that's not all I'm looking for... It's nice to show the turbo off is all I'm saying. So, I ask again (AND I HAVE BEEN READING FOR A MONTH NOW), how much do you guys (in your expert opinions) think it would run me for an intake and an exhaust system?

I own a VW. I work at a VW/AUDI/Porsche dealership.

The 1.8t is a piece of ----. Doesnt matter if you take care of it or not. In fact, might as well beat the living ---- out of it.

If you have been reading for a month and dont know what it costs for an intake and exhaust you are a complete idiot.

BTW nothing will kill a bosch MAF sensor on a 1.8t faster than an oily cotton free flow filter. Have fun with that.

Is the truth of the matter. You cant half ass those cars. They are sensitve to engine changes anyway.

wow...finally a half ass decent answer. I'm not trying to half ass the mods. If I was, it would already be done. I asked a question to people I thought might be able to answer a simple ------- question. I understand that the 1.8t is a sensitive bitch. However, there are things that can be done to it to make it so it's not SO sensitive to mods. Can I just get a ------- price on these mods so I know what I'm looking at. Just a ------- ballpark number is all that is necessary.

----...stop trying to play who's got the bigger dick and help a guy out, dick...
