i've been curropted by my crx friends and decided to join the forum (again sorta).

I like miatas :P........motors are pretty tough. I know a guy pushing 300 whp and it rips hard since it's light as hell. Perfect for autocross. 8)

ya, the motors in em are pretty stout, a lot of guys are pushing 15+ plus psi (on a t25 sized turbo) on them daily driven which is good for around 230-250 rwhp. The big issue tho is while the motors don't really need the big $$$ interms of internals, the stock ecus are untouchable so to run bigger injectors you need to spend the cash on a tech3 or equivelent unless you wanna run a ghetto emanage.
as for the greddy kit, I got it brand new for 1k shipped when at the time no one even made flanges for 1.6 motors so I was kinda up the creek, on top of that I was in highschool and stupid. Now with flanges and manifolds on the market I woulda done a custom set up but too little to late. at the same time however I can get 230-240 rear wheel hp out of the greddy manifold/td04 which isn't a ton but factory weight is 2180 and I've removed the soft top which evens out the hard top, pulled the ac (40lbs), radio, spare time/jack, air bag, emissions equipment, bumper supports and impact ----, and idunno a bunch of other things so it should be right around 2k even. best I've run so far is a 14.4 at 97 with all the ac still installed and with a craptastic vortech 12:1 |

At the first IFO I went to, there was alittle gay miata. He pull a trailer. Its was red, he did alittle tuning before he pulled up to the tree. Reving it up black smoke would cover the car. He pulls the slicks off the trailer he pulled there with his miata. Puts them on and pulls to the line. Everyone is laughing at him as it seems like his car is in pain in the burnout box. Light dropps and he bust out a 11.34. Everyone was like :o

yes miatas are for girls to drive but i cant argue the fact that i really really want one....mazdas will kick more ass than any honda...... i loved my pro soon as i find a nice one again itll be mine.............

you can get a clean one for around 4, my fathers selling one of his for around 4 and its never seen snow since it was new in 90. |

I like the car, I've always say they gay if they are stock, but I know they have a lot of potential, and I defintely dig the hard top.
However did you say something about your dad selling one of his, because that would put number_of_miatas > 3 which=chance of penis in anus at 99% I don't think I could handle looking at a litter of them |

You need the N/A RX-7 LSD, axles & driveshaft & a great clutch. The 1.6L rear end has a tendancy to kill itself. Sometimes at 200-220, sometimes not till 250. Then again there are some that have failed 100% stock LoL! |

Then again there are some that have failed 100% stock LoL! theres a totaled miata sitting in my backyard with the larger 1.8 rear end (same casing, shafts, etc. as the rx-7 but with a gear type lsd and not a clutch pack style) I tried to swap it last summer when my turbo ---- was getting cermic coated however after shattering some sockets, I realized it wasn't coming out without a torch and I threw in the towel since I had a week and a half before I went back to college and Boston=no car. I'm at the point now where I want to put a stouter rear end in, a stand alone, and ground controls with agx shock and sway, poly bushings, etc but college is a priority right now so I'm gonna wait until i can do it "right".....either that or i'm gonna sell the car and buy a 1.8 (94+) and piece together a turbo kit with some beefier compnents. |

If you're already doin 12s I'd keep going with the car, do the better rear, with a bigger gear, a better clutch, stand alone with a couple more psi, thats prob a half second right there

the best I can muster as of yet is a 14.4 at 97, however (here come the excuses) it was extrememly humid and literally 96 degrees, the night I went my friends gti and sr20 sentra were running about2-3 tenths slower then when hey ran later that fall. I'm hoping this year with better fueling and roughly a 100 lbs less weight and some 40 degree cooler air I can break into the 13's on a stock bottom end and ecu which I'll be happy with since stock is around 16.7. I think the new afpr and pump alon will help alot since at the track my car was running out of fuel up top. |
