The guys were coming over to see what I was doing. I had the test vehicle running at 250 rpm!
I can operate from 600 to 800 rpm faster past red-line with the power curve still heading up rather than down.
I got 33 more horsepower out of a big-block Chevy just by adding FireStorm spark plugs and adjusting the tuning of the engine.
It allows you to take an internal combustion engine from the standard 14.7:1 air-to-fuel ratio to an incredibly lean 24:1.

I've emailed the guy who designed the plug to see if any real progress has been made ... doubt it, but you never know until you ask.
Stealthmode - from further reading (other articles) If found the plug is not in production (supposedly) because it doesn't wear down like a conventional spark plug does. No plug manufacturer would make them because it would destroy business and return customers. He is said to be starting his own plug company ... so ... we'll see if things ever actually make it into production. One article he wrote said hoped for by 4th quarter 2006.
Krustindumm - is it possible that the possibility for a lower idle comes from increased power production from better use of the air/fuel mix ? I'm no expert but isn't it possible to have more power per stroke without having more strokes per second ?
Also Krustindumm - when dealing with a higher rpm power band ... with a stock engine you end up losing power at the top end because of a restrictive air intake system(among other things) because the AFR is rich and it doesn't burn as well/as completely as a 14.7 of the same volume would. With a better spark isn't it possible to recieve a more complete combustion of the same volume of the sam AFR with a weaker plug ? The problem at high rpm is usually poor AFR, isn't it ? One way to deal would be to increase air ... wouldn't another be to have a better ignition source ?
I'm not experienced with ignition systems and was just curious about the feasability of this article. I'm not trying to question your conclusions, I'm just asking questions to make sure I understand whats going on. If the theory is sound ... that what I really want to know.

well the the theory may be sound, but that's only theory, it has to be PROVEN in the actual world in real cars. I didn't read the whole thing, but it looks like a cool idea.
I find it weird that the website's name is NEXUS and your UN is NU tuner, starting letters of the syllables of NEXUS, just wondering.

The future is no plugs at all. Its all in the direct inject, (like diesels). The engine is just compressing air, then fuel is injected at 50 to 200 bar (not psi) and burned w/ a typical plug at the same time (already available in some 06-07 Audis, VWs, Toyotas, and Nissans, GM & Ford are expecting a late 08 to 09 release). Technology is also advancing to where there will be one unit that is an injector and a spark plug in one. There is an electrode at the end of the direct injector that instead of injecting atomized fuel into the compressed air, it injects the fuel already burning (ignites as soon as it exits), significantly reducing emissions and carbon build up and increasing power and economy. This is also the future for high HP and boost turbocharged cars. Detonation is eliminated in a system like that. This guy w/ his BS plugs isnt going to do ----, the future of technology passed his *** already. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
