grey rtv silicone around the pipe and then ur coupler and clamp. seen that done and that seems to work pretty good.

Drill a 1/4" hole on either side of the coupler in the piping. Put a bolt and washer in the hole from the inside out and tighten it up with some High temp RTV for sealant. Cut some aluminum flat-bar to a little over the distance of the bolts, and pop two holes in it to match the bolts. Bolt it to the new "studs", and it's never coming off. Or just weld aluminum studs on.
