Re: New Rides **PICS**
The Celica is a non-turbo non-altrac GT-S, its basically a sporty looking Camry coupe for what its worth. Its giot a 5S-FE engine that makes (or made at one point) 135hp, so its slow as ----. However, it does have all the fancy ---- that was available in 1991, ie CD player and power moonroof. If I cant get to any decent power with my Tercel, I might rebuild and boost the Celica instead, but that more like a next year thing.
The Dune Buggy is just a hacked up pre 1968 beetle, the tires gotta go for sure, they are completly fucked. Ive got a killer set of rears for it alread though but I need to get, or make, some new rims. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...265_5_full.jpg I WOULD like to boost it since they are TOTALLY gutless, but its air cooled so I'm not too sure what to do to cool the turbo. If I was going to do it I would probably just use a TE04H and a draw through carb setup. I would just modify (shorten) that crazy manifold and put the turbo right on top, with the carb on top of that. ----, that sounds like a good idea now............... |

Re: New Rides **PICS**
Actually on the 5SFE I am almost positive you can use the 3sgte turbo manifold and the CT-26 turbo. Also the 5SFE until 1994 I believe, has forged internals from the factory. It's a strong motor. A buddy of mine turbo'd his '93 camry with a 5SFE in it. Still running at 12psi now, a year later.
P.S. That dune buggy makes me warm and fuzzy inside. |
Re: New Rides **PICS**
The only drawback to using a 3SGTE kit is that the starter interferes with the turbo (i think anyways). If I was going to turbo that I would want to at least freshen it up a bit since its got 302,000km on the clock. I would want to have a snazzier than stock manifold for it anyways, then the starter would be alright where it was.
