new project i might be doing..look...
i have a chance to get a 97 crv 5speed.i need the bigger vehicle for the family.BUT,i have an idea to pull out the b20 drop in my built turbo b16 out my integra.drop the b20 in my integra and sell it off.i would have an all wheel drive turbo crv,what you think? I mean i do need a family car but with hmt love.... ;)

no see i am not using the b20 i would use the motor out my integra to put in the crv...built b16 turbo in a crv.

i have seen videos and pics with write-ups on an drifting awd integra and an awd crx turbo/gsr.why couldnt handle my set up then?the drifting integra would be more brutal than i would ever be to this project.

keep in mind i am not going to be street draggin this car. all i want is to salvage my motor out my integra in the process of getting a new family ride.the interchangable b-series.

sounds like a plan. BUT i'm guessing you would get alot more for your integra if you left the b16 in, even if it wasn't boosted.

I still think you could get decent money for the B20 integra. You have a kickass idea, I would love a turbo CRV. You might miss the lack of about 20 or so ft-lbs, but then again when that turbo is spoolin will you really care? ;)

I have too much money in my b16 to letit go.rods,pistons,complete valvetrain no way is some other dipshit getting those goods.11 psi on a b16 in crv t3/t4 turbo still will get up and go.

That ---- would be awesome 8) The ricers wouldnt know what hit them :o and theres a big difference between putting a d series in a newer teg like a ------- idiot and puttin a boosted b16 that is better then the b20 that is currently in it.

I would do it man. That would kick so much ass. See, I told people that in the future if I get an older Honda Odyssey for the family (with the F22), its definitely getting some boost love. A fast minivan would be the pimpest ---- to go and pick up the kids with :P

Nah if the turbo is sized correctly for the jobs the crv will be doing then the drivability should be way better than the b20

The CRV B20's only makes 133 ft/lbs of torque @ 4300. And what, a B16 is like, 113 @ whatever? His is a built B16 (I'm assuming rods and pistons). I'm sure the torque curve will be just as good as the B20 or better. I don't see the problem with him swapping the B16 into the CRV.. IMHO, I still see it as being pretty sweet.

I dont khow why some think it will be laggy or tourqeless.my engine is built and with 11psi untuned it hauls in my integra i am guessing 210-220hp.transfer all that into the crv TUNED with a bit more boost it would not be a bad daily driver.still have the power to move it loaded or not.

We're talking about puting a motor from a 2500 pound car into a 3200+ pound car. Big difference. Not to mention having a considerable amount of additional drivetrain loss.

Yeah but a b16 with a smallish turbo should be able to make the same or better numbers down low as the b20

imgaine you are carrrying 5 ppl in the car. (almost 4000lb) 1)up front is a really steep hill. 2)u got full load of grabage in the back 3)you just came to a complete stop 4) the car behind u didn`t leave u no room to roll back now do u think u have enough room to rev pass the laggy rpm (1 - 2 K with a SMALLE TURBO i assum?) before the turbo STARTS to built boost? oh well :P :D |
