Default New Hyundai Project :-) (You may like this, Jeff)

Ok, as many of you know by now, my hatch is almost gone, off to Mason City, Iowa. Now, I'm driving my Hyundai Accent. Here's whats on the lineup.

2003 Hyundai 2.0L swap + 16G running 13-15psi.

I know the 2.0L beta can take at least 15psi with good management (a local kid has a one that he's put like 20k miles on without a hitch.)

Either that or a NA 2.7" V6 swap. Whatcha think?

haha, an HMT hyundai would be awesome. I think I've only seen 1 other on here. There was a video link posted not too long ago of a boosted Hyundai smoking a 500 HP Dodge SRT10!!! I think the kid was at 23 psi (don't exactly remember it was in his mods list).

After seeing that, screw the 2.0L. I think I may have to boost the 2.7L :-) (If it'll fit)

I hope Hyundai sells SOMETHING with the 2.7L Supercharger soon. I'll find a reason to warranty one :-)

Is that 2.0l Beta engine the same thing we have in the 04 new Kia Spectra? with CVT? its rated at just a tad bit more power than the Elantra GT. I just went to new model training on it. Your going to put 15psi on that? hah right on

Jeff u do know Hyundai and Kia are the same company right?
http://www.globalauto.org/hyu.htm
Hyundai Auto is thirty years old, Kia is much older and a pioneer of the Korean auto industry. Kia was purchased by Hyundai several years ago. The plan is not to make all models badge-engineered, but to let each division have its own identity. Currently DaimlerChrysler has invested into Hyundai/Kia, owning ten percent (10%). Kia is the Korean manufacturer that built the Ford Festiva, and the Ford Aspire

Nah don't bother boosting the 2.7L, they tend to self-destruct after the 260HP mark. Just boost the 2.0, I have dynos of them at 600HP.

I used to have the Alpine Turbo System on my tiburon. Alpine is a South African company that does most of the OEM kits such as the TRD supercharger for the Tacomas. I bought one of the first exported ones for 2g's and I ended up selling it for 3g's on ebay. It used a DSM turbo, but the system as a whole was crappy as hell. It was designed for a non-US engine (MAP equipped), so the fitment sucked. The manifold is ----! I finally sold it because of the UniChip that used a fifth injector for fuel management and that you would have to get them tuned at licen$ed shops. I dyno'd at an inconsistent 210HP w/ the small turbo.

I think the accents with the 2.0 is good for solid 14-second runs. Pretty good since they are in the 17's in the quarter.

I'm working on my new kit and I should be done with it by the South Cali meet on June7th

TurboTibby: Thanks for the heads up on the 2.7L. I've never seen one FI before (except the occasional Tiburon), that why I wanted to do it. Plus, I have a 2.0L longblock in my moms garage, and it'll fit pretty easy. :-)
