New guy from the midwest
I heard about this site from a few honda buddies so i figured id give it a go.Ive got a white 89 probe gt.If you dont know the cars, they came with a sohc 2.2L turbocharged engine. They arent much for horsepower, but they love to make torque.Ive got a short list of mods on this car so far, but theres always room for improvement.
PTE 5031E jrc fmic 2.5" IC piping tial 38mm jgs log mani greddy type rs turbo xs hp boost controller probesport short throw 2.5" turboback-no cat-magnaflow muffler fidanza flywheel southbend dxd 6 puck apexi turbo timer aem UEGO cheapo faze boost gauge aeromotive afpr cartech fmu stock injectors for now injecttech zombie ss chip I just bought the car in non running condition, but soon got it running. It pulls decent but it needs some dsm 450s or rx7 460s to move up in boost.I know this is primarily a honda site, but hopefully i can get some help later in tuning my fuel later on.Ill post pics if you guys are interested in seeing an old turbo ford. |

Post some porn and you'll fit right in here. Also why are you running that turbo on those small ass injectors?

I ripped a turbo off of my cousins probe :P That car was junk by the time I got near. Looks like you're doing some good ---- with yours, though

As long as your keeping an eye on the wideband, i just dont trust the stock injectors for anything but the stock turbo. Your build is similar to mine. Minus the megasquirt

For a guy who didn't bother to research enough about what was expected of him before making a first post you appear to be doing pretty well.
Sweet car, IMO get injectors bigger than 450cc and get a Megasquirt so you can ditch that FMU and the odd-ass 0-9v flapper door style MAF. Also look into a mild NA grind cam, or just a stock NA cam, should free up the ponies while keeping the awesome torque. No need to go $$$ on headwork and valvetrain, just try to free up some mid to top end flow with a better bumpstick. |

sorry i dont have any vids of the car yet.The weather is too shitty outside right now and even though i know its just an old ford, i dont want salt on the car if i dont have to.Ive been down on hwy last year a few times but i go up to the street races on sundays. You might have seen me in my old red escort wagon or my bright pink escort gt, both v6 swapped.Once the weather gets nicer out, id like to get some vids.I do have one vid of the car with the msd digital 6, testing out the launch control. http://www.supermotors.net/vehicles/...y/media/266269 |
