I would have to disagree. With a pistol grip and a minimum lenght of 18"(both wich are legal for a shotgun here in Texas) I would take a shotgun over a pistol for home defense. In the dark you will miss, specially while your heart is pumpig with enough adrenalin to raise a dead man.I dont want to shoot the neighbor while hes sleeping if I miss with a handgun.

Asides from my handgun I aslo have a 5 shot,12 guage Mossberg that I keep in my closet.I've never even shot it :-\.

Actually this new place, Vandalia Range & Armory, in Vandalia a little bit north of Dayton. They haven't been there but a few months and the guys that work there are all cool and really helpful. Cincinnati really is starting to get just plain scary is a lot of places, I work mostly at Speedway gas stations (on the frozen Pepsi machines) and because they sell alcohol I can't carry in there. Yet, when you walk in and they have the floor to ceiling bullet proof glass around the counter where the registers are you start to wonder about the neighborhood you're in. I was on Vine St. a few days ago and saw some nigs trash this guy out in the parking lot then come inside, not really a situation I cared to be in.

I did keep my pump 20 Mossberg by my bed before but it was way too much of a hassle to me to get it ready laying down, if someone was to come into my place it would need to be an immediate reaction because it is so small. From my bedroom the front door is about 15 feet away and about 20 feet away to the back door, not a lot of time to dick around. However I would prefer the easy point and shoot of the shot gun spray. Or a Derringer type gun that has a barrel for .45 and a 410 shot shell.

Actually it's "Concealed Carry Weapon". :P Sounds stupid, but that's what they call it. :l
