two better options than renting to own for $120 a month:
1. put the 120 a month aside until you can afford to buy it cash
2. get a credit card and pay on it

I can get 42" for $200 and 50" for $350 and 60" 1080p for $750 :-* :P :6

Re: New fangled hdtv bullshit question....

Well im not running out to buy a tv right now. The main reason i want it is cuz they report to your creditors. I have been paying on my credit cards and everything, but they are a few years behind, so it will take a while to get my credit back in line. With this reporting to my creditors too, i can score a nice tv, help build up my credit, and i won't really notice a difference in the money i have. This idea to go to a rent to own place like this was actually suggested to me by someone at my bank, they said if i can actually keep up with the payment that it was actually a pretty good way to get a good standing account on my report. And i figure with the direct withdrawel i really won't be able to miss a payment, even if im already overdrafted. I understand ill be paying out the ass for it, but its also to help boost my credit in the long run. Besides that, this won't happen for probably another two to three months, becuase i want to figure out my expenses at the new place and look around for the best deal i can find on a good tv.

Jus so ya know...LG gets panels from both Samsung and Phillips...and they also have "LG-Phillips" panels jointly created by them.

I know because, well I worked there a year and saw the LG-Phillips and Samsung branded boxes of tens of thousands worth of LCD panels...

Best? No. But they've definitely came a long way and I've never had trouble with their products, refurbed or new. Definitely would buy them over a lot of the garbage displays on the market.

Refurbs from LG. Worked there for a while and still got some friends there, getting a TV is somewhat of a lottery and the amount you can purchase is limited.

I used to buy in bulk back when we had a shady guy operating it, but they've made changes to make it nearly impossible...

I think he means that monitors ARE LCDs, just with lower contrast and such than TV sets.

The definition is actually better though, since more pixels are crammed into a smaller area.

Resolution on TVs are usually 1280x720, 1366x720, or 1920x1080 and are larger than monitors, so yes their specs will be better.
