Default New fangled hdtv bullshit question....

Im moving out next month and looking to get a nice tv for the new place. I wanna get one of those high tech thin hdtv's, but i don't know what to look for. I want at least 36", but i would really prefer to get a 46". I play a little bit of guitar hero, so if its a pain in the *** to work with game consoles, i won't be devistated. I just want a nice tv. I was looking at Aarons rent to own and i found a 46" tv (don't remember the brand) for like $120 a month. Now i know there is some haters here who will tell me im paying for two tv's and all that ----, but there is no way i can pay for one upfront with all the bills and my old credit card bills finally getting paid up. I don't mind paying more if i can have it now. Plus they don't do credit checks, big plus for me cuz i have shitty credit. They also report to your creditors, and they offer direct withdrawel. So i figure its like i didn't even get the raise i got last month. Im just getting a new tv instead of my raise. So i know a couple of you have them, post up with some pics if you have them, and tell me what you like about them, and more importantly, what you hate about them.

im rockin a 52" sony bravia xbr5 series, it has all that new fangled bullshit, i love it, you can't beat a huge TV w/blue ray movies, it just looks retarded.
Xbox 360's and ps3's in HD look great as well and are not hard to set up with the system eather, just plug them in and hit input, just like any normal tv.

Go to Circuit City when they are offering their "18 months 0% interest on purchases w/ CC credit card". Pick a TV that you can pay off in 18 months. Pay it off in 18 months. Honestly, sounds like you can't afford the TV and shouldn't buy it. Why not move in and figure out your actual expenses before you go out and spend $1000 on a TV? You can always hit up Craigslist and grab an older projection TV for $200 that is nice and big. If you don't know any better, you wont know the difference between that and a $2500 1080p LCD TV playing GuitarHero.

Save your money, since you just got a raise - put whatever extra you make in the bank each check. When you can afford a TV, go out and buy it with cash. This is just about the worst kind of debt you could have, debt for ---- you don't need. Don't be like the other millions of Americans out there that abuse credit for stupid ---- like this, and then end up with terrible credit, foreclosed house, etc etc. Sounds like your credit already sucks, but that doesn't mean you have to keep making bad decisions like this.

just to throw something in.

although i do agree, HD anything no matter if its 480 or 740, it will look better than a standard set. although i really hate most lcd's. i prefer computer monitors.

Rent to own is bullshit, I'm not hating just saying the facts. They prey on people who have no money, but of course have the desire for things. That ann rand quote someone posted a while back was right, a wise man is one who knows he cannot consume more then he produces. I would think again about it, and would save a bit out of each check, in a few months you could have it at half the price, or you could have it right now and pay out the ***, your choice.
