is a new engine management unit necassary
hi
am looking to turbo my 1.6 DOHC CRX. I was wondering if someone can clarify a few things for me. I understand that by increasing the air i need more fuel, but surely its not as easy as buying some higher CC injectors and just putting them in? I'd need an engine management system like Zydene or somink? I am only looking to run complete max of 8psi so will this nessacary? will i even need the uprated injectors?
thanks
Nick

Many times with a low boost setup, you can get away with using a pressure switch to close the watertemp circut at boost....
This makes the car thinks its cold and dumps more fuel.. sometimes other circuts need to be tricked as well so that this effect wont be cancelled out by the e.c.u...

There are many ways to get this done. The cheapest I would recommend would be a rising rate FPR. This would raise the rail pressure according to how much boost you have at the time. It is actually used by Comptech in some of their supercharger kits.
The best solution is to run the Zdyne, Hondata, or AEM ECU.
