Huh? I have the 3rd gear grind, but I honestly think it's from missing 3rd sooooo much. It only grinds in 3rd at higher (6k+) rpms and not normal shifting. You think it's a clutch spring? Why wouldn't it do it in the other gears as well?

well before i start pullin stuff out, do u guys think it would do anygood to start with little things first like maybe changing the tranny fluid, and i think someone said something about some springs, maybe i can check those first. or should i just skip that stuff and go get a new tranny?

With the engine off and the car stopped does it shift into every gear (might be hard the first time into each gear, move it in and out of each gear to make sure it is smooth)?
If it does shift into every gear, try starting it in every gear (put in engine off, car stopped, start the engine clutch in, realease the clutch). Will it move in every gear?
If yes, clutch shot
If no, trans shot
