Laskey is saying it is not their fault. They haven't had a problem with supertech. He will do free labour and try to get supertech to own up to this problem. He also said it could have been hydrolocked because an injector stuck open. Something to do with the injector driver?

Doubtful. Was your timing belt broken, cam gears slipped, or the engine out of time? That's how the valves break unless one is defective and takes out another. Flooding enough to hydrolock the engine... a cyl rams the piston against the head with an incompressible layer of fluid between them, the bottom end/rod is the weak point.

Does the oil smell like fuel?

ALL of those valves look FUCKED UP Watch that video again, please get some close up pics of the valves SEATED in the other combustion chambers. The vid makes it look like the valves are sitting way out even though they are "seated". It looks like they should sit more "flush" inside the head. sorry to hear about that dude. you had a sweet build going for you.

to bad it wasnt a d you would have had it running again for $100 at the junkyard :P

The thing here is that it is one EXHAUST and one INTAKE valve, that are broken, if it was timing related there would be other intake or exhaust valves harmed. And at a bare minimum at least the two similar valves in the one cylinder would be toast. What happened here is that a valve somehow got stuck open, its the only way what happened is possible.

Tell Laskey this information, if he does not comply than he needs to suck your BBC.

oil smells like oil, no fuel in it, and he is telling me that they have never had a problem and this is what supertech has told Mike Laskey

Hi Mike

I don't know what caused this breakage.

One thing is for sure: we never had any issues with valves breaking because of the valves. Valves may break though if there is something that causes the valve to break.

It is not the first time and it will not be the last time that somebody blames a valve for its breakage, because it is the simple way to diagnose a problem or because they don't believe that there is something else causing the breakage.

The photos show the broken valves and the destruction it caused but this does not mean that the valves are to blame.

The valves are indeed one of the parts that can break first if something else is or was wrong and many people get confused by this fact.

We can analyze the parts with the condition that we receive all the valves in the engine, only because the broken valves will not tell much of what happened but we can check what is the condition of the other valves.

The fact that Port Flow and You put together the engine eliminates several things that can go wrong, but there are still others so we need to analize if the other valves have signs of having hit something, overrevving, if they are bent, etc.

So please send me all the valves from that engine and we will let you know what we find.

At any rate, we try to be good people and help anybody that needs help so if they need new parts we can help aside from this issue to be investigated.

Let me know any questions.

Thank you

So pretty much I have no idea what to say? Tell Laskey to pay for a new head & piston. I pay for ferrera valves and part shipping? I have spent $8000 with those bastards. They should at least do this for me.

If they are so smart how come no one can Identify what the cause of failure is? :S

Its quite obvious is it not?

They need to build you a new head asap.

I sure hope it wasn't the valves, Thats what we are using in our build

Yah, I half agree with Willy wanting to inspect the valves as there has to be a cause + for all we know one of the guides was fucked. Quality product and QC is great but ---- DOES happen.

On the other hand I remember Willy being a douche to somebody... I can't remember who but search function his name on this and other forums. I'm not saying he'll try to screw you or anything, but all shops/businesses have their issues (and that includes me).
