get your protein from a variety of food: nuts, fish, dairy, meat, eggs, chicken.. every food has something different to offer get a variety every day. whey is required post workout with ~80-100g simple carbs (dextrose and/or malto, even gatorade will do) because obviously your body needs that protein pretty quick b'fast it needs it prety quick so its ok then too |

well im learning alot thats why i started this post..
i didnt mean to make it sound like i got it all from way.. i get 120 from whey, and between over 20, probably between 20 and 100 from foods like golean crunch, salmon, tunafish, and meat. |

any way, whats a good, home made protein shake that i can make right now, for hella cheap, withought adding expensive ----. i know dry skimmmed milk, and milk, and peanut butter and ---- is good, but i havent found anything on the net. hotrex, care to enlighten. -1 cup 1% milk -2 packets of carnation instand breakfast powder (choco) -1 heaping tablespoon of natural peanut butter (the kind with the oil on top that you have to stir, not jiffy or krap i mean kraft) -i banana 1) put the milk into the blender first (my blender had measuring lines ont he side of it so you dont have to dirty a measuring cup too) 2) add the powder 3) scoop the peanut butter and dump as much as you can into the blender (some will stick to the spoon obviously) 4) to get all the peanut butter off the spoon, i use the banana to wipe it off then drop in the banana 5) blend baby blend. tatse killer and has lots of good protien for you. i like my shakes really thick so they stick to ya gut for a while. add more milk to make it less thick this is good for a pre or postworkout shake if your looking for some good strength training books to read which have everything you need, i'd recommend these books hands down: The Abs Diet by David Zinczenko Testoterone Advantage Plan by Lou Schuller Cover Model Workout by Owen McKibben Core Performance by Mark Verstegen I have all four of the above books in addition to a slew of others. If you combine all the knowledge in them, you have enough workouts and diet plans to last you into retirement. the best generic diet plan out there right now is the South Beach Diet but its geared towards people who are overweight looking to lose pounds. guys or girls who want to bulk up or get ripped and lean need to follow a similar but slightly altered path. the books above follow that. I'm pretty big on health and nutrition and I keep myself in good shape since i just turned the big 31. we bought a brand new home gym (kinda like bowflex but with weight stacks and lots of other stuff too) and i bike and snowboard in season regularly. |

another good shake is a few ice cubes, a scoop of strawberry, or other fruit flavored protein, some yogurt, either plain or strawberry, and some frozen fruit and blend it up.
I buy these bags of small frozen fruit the genric grocery store blend, for real cheap and it's enough to make 5 or ten shakes. And it tastes as good as any milk shake I've had, damn I think I'm gonna make one now. |
