My Turbo'd D16 is Dead
Yesturday, I was driving down the highway and this woman in the a lane to my right and relatively far in front of me, looses control of her car and ends up in my lane facing me. We hit head on at around 45mph. She was cited, as she should have been

Airbags went off...i was surprised...didn't hurt at all...my neck is still a bit sore..kinda just like waking up on the wrong side of the bed
damage is pretty bad...radiator, bumper (her bumper was actually underneath my hood...i just found it), both fenders are dented in...hood is smashed and wont open. manifold is cracked to ----. cant see the compressor side of the turbo so im not sure, core support, that metal bar behind the bumper Her insurance company is being a pain in the ass. Just from talking about it they are gonna try and deny, deny, deny. Any advice on making this ---- easier? |

weres the pics man... oh and is your inshurance gonna pay for that ---- cuz if they dont cover your mods id talk my turbo off and throw a d15 in there and let them have it! they still wont start is cuz its wreked.. and then just keep all the parts wehn the inshurance pays for your new car install them and your turbo baby is back

Since her insurance is the one that has to pay damages, you should get more money back than if yours were to pay, ie hers should pay for damage to the IC etc. That equipment may not have been insured under your company but that really shouldn't matter because her insurance is handling it... so that's a plus.

----...Just talked to the records office at the sheriffs dept, and the woman said that off the record it didn't look like the officer was going to cite anyone. am i fucked if they don't cite anyone?

you have from the time the insurance company looks at it until the time the tow truck picks the car up to take off ANYTHING you want, the truck driver doesnt give a ---- what's on there or not and by then you're check is already in the mail, rip out the motor, tranny, inerior, EVERYTHING!! Once the insurance company looks at it, its fair game. I got a zc out of one of my friends integra's when we were in hs after the insurance company looked at it.

I got hit before and the lady told the cop, my parents, and I she didn't see me when she came over. Cop put on the report and the womens statement she wrote said the same thing. After screwing with her insurance for about two months they were lik "She is caliming you hit her sorry, but we have to deny your claim". I kept putting it off after that, but finally filed a suit against her two months before the statute ran out.
Went in, of course she lied her as off. Showed the judge the report. My estimate which was almost 3k, he insurance estimate which was $1200. Asked what I could sell it for in it's current condition. Said maybe $1200 (had aftermarket parts) and he granted the rest $1800. Long story short just sue her ass if they deny and get some good estimates. Her insurance will want to use serta fit crap on there. |

Don't get fucked, go to the hospital right now. If you have insurance that covers bodily damage for you, just call your insurance company - tell them what happened, and then go to the hospital and use your insurance card as insurance.
What your insurance company will then do is bill her insurance company for whatever the hospital charged them. Best case scenario is your insurance company goes after them in court too. You should have taken pictures of the scene and both liscense plates, any skid marks after the accident. I didn't have a camera with me when I got hit, so I called somebody and told them to get there as fast as they could with a camera. I never had to use the pictures since the guy had the same insurance company as me and admitted fault. |

The longer they let this ---- drag on, the worse its gonna be for you. Get a ------- lawer to at least call her insurance company. When they hear the word "attorney" they perk up real quick... :y

well my insurance agent is a friend of the family and has been awesome so far even tho i dont have any coverage with them...I havent returned any of the other insurance calls so far today...just waiting to hear back from my agent and get his advice on what to do

There is hope...this morning when I was at school, my mom talked to the officer, and thats why we thought there were no citations...thats wut he was claiming. Well now that it is done, she called the sherrif's office to find out the final decision for sure, and she talked to anopther officer and i guess my cop asked him for advice after he got off the phone with my mom. he didn't know which party was which but he told my mom that earlier today he told the other officer that he should ticket the party who first lost control (which is definately her) I have a message in with the department to get the final decision but its looking good.

their final decision is to cite none...aprrantly going 40 in a 65mph when it snowed a bit earlier in the day is entirely too fast for conditions..what bullshit

I'd go to the state's attorney. ---- the bullshit, there's no way it takes 2-3 days to decide whether or not to cite somebody, it always happens at the scene of the accident. They'll cite your ass for too fast for conditions if you're going 2mph in a 55.
You need to take this to court. |

Well I think I may have found a new car...its about an hour from my house...92 civic ex sedan 144k miles, clean title...needs tires and the drivers side windshield wiper doesnt work...if only one of the front windshield wipers doesn't work its fair to assume its the motor right? has some dents and some rust, but its only 900 bucks. sounds like a good deal?
