Been wanting to put some pics of my car up lately. '01 Stratus coupe, 2.4L SOHC (4g64). This motor is slow as balls stock. Turbo made it alittle better to drive.

Re: my turbo stratus coupe
Talk about bird ---- welds ;D
Nice work. I take it the person who welded the manifold is different than the person who welded the downpipe? Any numbers? |
Re: my turbo stratus coupe
I love how you bothered to paint the downpipe but didnt grind down the welds ;D
Awesome setup, I like it. Wasnt there a guy on here with a 4g64 (Galant) who had a rather mean setup? |
Re: my turbo stratus coupe
---- ya that looks great :y

Re: my turbo stratus coupe
---- i never noticed how a blacked out stratus could look so sexy

Re: my turbo stratus coupe

Re: my turbo stratus coupe
Ya, there was a guy on here with a galant with all that done. I really liked it. I think he just used a DSM Exhaust manifold though instead of building one. I have a 2.4 galant that I'd love to do this too also. But it's my DD so it wouldn't be too smart I think. But anywho, looks awesome man!

Re: my turbo stratus coupe
Thanks guys,
The downpipe was a major pain in the ass. I had a friend who works for the railroad that is a more experienced welder do most of the welding, as you can see he was having alot of problems. Turned out he had it on the wrong heat setting and way to much wire speed. Ive been practicing and my welds look a hell of alot better, so I may redo that eventually. I was going to grind down the welds but I decided I just wanted it done. The 1200 deg. paint is more for rust/corrosion resistance than looks. The only numbers I have right now are from a G-tech, (very unaccurate im sure) but will give me a better idea of what kinda gain I got. Before turbo it was "120 hp" and after its now "160 hp". So a very rough estimate is 40 hp gain. Ill definately get legitimate #s and tuned next season. :6 |
Re: my turbo stratus coupe
I like it, it's good to see somthing different. But that down pipe is a little scary.
