My thoughts on the new HMT, from an OG that was here at the beginning...

A few might call me a nutswinger (Beau), but who's nuts am I swinging on? I don't own a Honda anymore, and for the most part I just come back to this site to help out here and there with what I've learned over the years. If anything the only nuts I'm swinging on are the one's that belong to the real people on here that really want to learn as much as possible. Granted every once and a while I do a few "homemade" builds for others to help them out in their pursuit of going faster, but the base of what I know now started here at HMT. We all pretty much started out the same, low on cash looking to go faster where creativeness became an essential if you wanted to succeed.

Alright, I know I'm going to get plastered with tons of flaming idiotic remarks for this, but honestly I don't care. All I can say is HMT, you had it coming. I just spent the past few minutes reading through quite a few pages on Chris selling the site to this new owner Rick who nobody seems to like, and the lack of respect for the new owner and the total disrespect given to Chris makes me sick. I personally say good luck to Chris in his business ventures, and I think he made the right decision. You can't mix business with your personal life and not expect there to be backlash. Most of you guys weren't on here in the beginning, and how you guys can sit here now and badmouth how you think things were back then shows how little you know. The site was decent back then with a mutual respect, it never really got out of control because the people who made up the site kept themselves in check. As time went on those personal checks and balances disappeared until lawlessness ruled the site with an "anything goes" attitude. I say let the banhammer fly, and lay the law down. Why should this site be any different than any other respected site out there? Once upon a time I used to direct many people to this site as it was a bastion of knowledge, what I considered some of the best out of most sites out there. These days I won't direct anyone here after seeing how this place has gone downhill. The knowledge might still be here, but it's hidden under the 20 tons of crap the current members have spewed over it.
To the new owner: Rick, I don't personally know you, but all I can say is you have your work cut out for you. Respect the OG's and in time they'll respect you, just like any other site. So far I haven't seen you go out of your way to incessantly flame any person other than as a retort to their personal attacks, so that makes you A-OK in my book. And as for the vB setup, leave it just the way it is...I personally like it much better and I'm quite used to it from numerous other forums. Makes getting around the site easier in the long run.

LOL yeah that would be why. Not sure on the price tag, I don't think Chris mentioned numbers but I'm sure it was a decent amount though.

ideas why Jeff sold it in the first place ?

He got married and all that good stuff. Guess he decided it was time to grow up and move on in life, he still pops on from time to time but I haven't been on as much as I used to after I offed my Honda to catch up with him. The site kinda took a downturn a little before he offed it though, so maybe that had a part in it too. I'm kind of hoping the new owner restores it some-what to its former early-Jeff years glory lol.

well best of luck to Jeff, he was the man. The only guy who i found to reply to every nonsense spam pm I sent him.
I dont think the site will ever return to its former glory,
I do with the new owner good luck, and I hope that the OG members are listened to.

Kind of hard when most of them have been banned.
