My sons 1st day at a day care...Rant..

SO my "fiance" ( yes ill be getting married next year ) and i thought it would be best if we sent our son to daycare only because our family members are unreliable and tend to not take care of them as they said they are.

Today was his first day and maria took him in the morning. She told me he was crying when she was leaving and i began to think back when i was small and i went to "head start". I remember being left their with total strangers, it was awkward, i was 4 i think...yes i remember that far back, but i can only imagine how my son must have felt.

As i write this i get all sad to think he might see it it as us abandoning him, but he's yet too small to understand.
The reason we chose this is because she needed to get back to work to pay off all her school loans and her car. she's almost done with it( 300 left to pay ) and she owns the POS toyota Celica ( 95 GT ) anyway i know this is a long rant and i just felt like venting how i felt.

I called the day care center and they told me he's doing fine and that he was sleeping...so thats good!

after work im going to the holmes depot and getting some PVC piping so i can try and drift my R/C's he's gonna love chasing the cars..haha...

lol :P

Well (not to sound like a sissy) but my only job for three years now has been to take care of children (basically a day care). The younger kids too tend to feel like their parents are neglecting them, but when its explained to them that their parents just need to do some things and thats its a part of life, they usually understand. Don't worry about your kid, he'll be fine ;)

First, julio your feet stink :P

Second, I wouldn't worry to much about your son, he's a nice kid, I'm sure he'll get along just fine with the other children. :) Soon he'll not wanna come home cause he'll have a daycare girlfriend :P

I wish I went to day care. We were too cheap for day care, my day care was my auntie who was on welfare that could give a rats ass if I ate or not or if I was there or not. She'd rather spend her food stamps on whatever the ---- she spent it on. :-\

i know it sucks but its a good thing, otherwise when he gets to school he will be in for the shock of his life.

its good to get kids use to the fact of being in a social enviroment. I have a freind who stayed at home up until it was time for kindergarten, and his mom has always been the stay at home mom, his personality sucks.

I remember my first day of school VIVIDLY. It ------- sucked. My mom had to go to work and was running late and I wouldn't let her go. I cried my ass off all the way there and she started crying. It was a mess. Some dork told me to sit by him and my mom told me to sit there and she would be back. I was pissed. I got over it, but that initial shock was hell. I didn't want to be left with all these strange people. I never even thought about it again after that one time. I just blended in and startd my trouble making life.

I'm sure after the first day yoru kid is used to it by now and has made some friends and wants to go back. I wouldn't worry about it. The damage is done. If he's like me he'll remember it for the rest of his life. :-[

BTW, later on in life I kicked that dorks ass several times. I think it was my subconscience telling me to whoop his ass for that first day of school. He was such a -----. ::)

come on julio, think of your location, you can run across the street to the 99 cent store, and compton is just a short drive away, I'd go so far as paying $530 for that.

how old is your son? we started taking my daughter to day care when she was 1 mo. old, seriously. they have no idea at that age, but she grew in to it and it was never different for her b/c that's all she remembered. this isn't like a pre school or anything obviously, but just a lady's day care at her home and she keeps like 4 other kids, so they're all really close, it's really good for the kids to experience it at a young age to help develop their social skills. i'm in the same boat as you, wife pays day care and i pay everything else :P
