My sexy new project!
Well, as most of you know, the turbo project got killed, but now a NEW project lives!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA

I'm still getting the spacing right, so that's what the plastic spacers are for. once i get it set, i'm pulling those and haveing aluminium ones made, and a steel bar welded across the bottom. My biggest problem now, is i need an intake manifold with straight runner, or i need to find someone to make me a blank intake flange (like the exhuast flanges that they where selling in the classifies for making exhaust manifolds. |
Re:My sexy new project!
How much was that setup? Is that off a newer bike?

Re:My sexy new project!
what?? a newer bike?? what are you talking about?

Re:My sexy new project!
i'm in about $200 right now, for the FPR, fuel rail, and the TB's. They are off a '01 Suzuki GSXR 1000cc bike. It's going to end up costing me more in the long run than a turbo, but i can't run in my class (SCCA) if i change the induction, but the rule book says intake/tb's/and injectors are "FREE" (i can atest that none of this has been free so far, but i'll keep you up to date)

Re:My sexy new project!
Sweet. If you can get a Cadd drawing of the flange you need I can get it cut out. It will probably be around $20 or so. I can get the throttle body flanges also. Looks like a pretty neat setup and should do well if you decide to turbocharge it also.

A-HA!! i have autocad 2001, and my father in law uses it all the time, i'll load him up at home and see if he can do one up. |
Re:My sexy new project!
thought about throttle control at all?? Imagine turbo a quad TB setup.. insane.

Re:My sexy new project!
What ECU would you run with that? My guess is that a stock system would be a tad difficult to tune..

Re:My sexy new project!
yeah, right now i'm work on getting the TPS sensor hook up. all the vacuum dependant sensors/parts are going to be run off a vacuum box (just need to figure out one to use). right behind all the TB's theres 2 lines for vacuum, so i'm going to tie all them together, then into one box. i'm going to have to fabricate a throttle cable since the one is 90 degrees to what stock tb's are (this wo't be to had at all, jsut a round pull that spins very free). i've found most of the spacing parts i need at mcmaster (yeah them!). a little bending of the TB plate arms is going to be need since they are about 1/2 inch farther apart then what they used to be. i'm anxious to see what kind power i am going to be able to pull out these. should be fun to run these in the NA bracket at the strip too.

Re:My sexy new project!
I still dont see how you are going to tune the thing with those. Are you getting something like hondata/zdyne/EMS?
