my sad track times lol
well guys I went to the track for open test and tune i think it was kind of ugly.....first off I have a y8 4-1 header , 3 inch greddy CatB exhaust , tenzo short Ram , and I was running 100 octane gas which i promise makes a difference at least in my car. Anyway it was alot of fun , best of 3 runs was 17.1 :7 1/4 mile at 80.9 miles an hour with a reaction time of .191 . so for my first time at the track I think I did ok as far as reaction times but Im looking to loose about 4 seconds off that time. I know it sounds sad guys but gotta do what you can with what you have.
Just thought you might want to know.......thanks take it easy everyone Philip may 6 Well everyone I went back to the track today and had a lil better time .......a 2.4 60 foot , .102 reaction time and a still slow 17.0 at 80 mph , again im new to the track that why i was out ther I am learning how run on the track , and I know its slow but I had fun , as far as the octane subject , Im not saying its making a huge difference but it does make some , either way it wont be like this much longer Im picking up the turbo next weekend , Im loking forward to getting it set up. I did beat a a 06 EX by 2 seconds though lol not saying much but it made me feel good. take it easy guys , Philip may 7 |
Re: my sad track times lol
um. you need to turbo. no other way will get you 4 seconds off your time.

Re: my sad track times lol
60 foot time was 2.8

Re: my sad track times lol
------, you have 1.5 seconds tied up in how much you suck at launching your car.
Were you having massive wheelspin problems, and too stupid to lift on the gas pedal a little, or did you dump the clutch and bog? I'm guessing the former, as the latter shouldn't do you worse than a 2.5... (BTW, you're a n00b, so we are going to flame you for your first 50 posts or so... welcome aboard!) |
Re: my sad track times lol
its just plain and simple his car is slow. nothing he can do or say. i remember the days of having a slow car but that was a few years ago. are you still in high school? NOOBIE

Re: my sad track times lol
actually on all three runs i had alot of wheel spin but again being new at this i think i got a lil excited and didnt let off like i shouldve ....lol and i dont worry too much about getting my balls busted a lil tell i get the hang of it.

Re: my sad track times lol
salesmonkey no im not in highschool , but believe me i know my car is no record breaker its fun to drive but im really trying to get it set up soon to put some decent numbers up

Re: my sad track times lol
Eh. Your car sucks, but you've got a good attitude. When you stuff a turbo underhood, you'll have 1,001 friends here.

Re: my sad track times lol
at least your getting track practice
|
Re: my sad track times lol
My pretty much stock car ran a 15.7 w/ a decent launch lol. Dont remeber 60ft. That was also my first time in a fwd stick at the track, besides when I was ------- around in a Festiva at a F-body meet at Norwalk hehe (I have pics ;D). Wheelspin sucks ass!

Re: my sad track times lol
Eh, never went to the track N/A, but it's going to be TOTALLY different with a turbo. Still gets you an idea, but turbo cars are driven different then underpowered N/As. Sorry, but that 60' is pretty bad. My buddy (who I think is a REALLY good driver) jumped in a Z6 Si hatch and first time pulled out a 15.9 with a 2.3 60'. I STILL can't get over, I think JD's story, of 195/70/13 all seasons with a 1.9 60'. I got a 2.3 on winters, so I have a while to go. :y

Re: my sad track times lol
I pulled a 2.2 with some bald kumho 205/40/16's with heavy ass motegi wheels my first time at the track. I've got a swap though, but 2.8 seems ridiculous.

Re: my sad track times lol
100 octane will make less power, if you don't make any timing changes, you sir are tard :1 for thinking that higher octane automatically makes more power

Re: my sad track times lol
you have to have an auotmatic to be so pathedic!
