My next project...(more pics)
Well, I have been wanting to do this swap since long before it was the "in thing" to do and before drifting was all the rage in the states. I know it is not really going to be an HMT style install, but I figure that it is something that will be a little different to post about since it is not a Honda. I have a 90 S13 that we have owned since about 1996. In 98 or there abouts, it was due for a motor rebuild and I was considering doing the swap then, but the car is an auto and I was under a time constraint, so I just rebuilt the motor with an overbore and used all OEM Nissan parts. Well, I finally took the plunge and I ordered an SR20DET and a host of other goodies for her. I also bought a 91 S13 coupe for a parts car to get some of the parts that I need to swap over to manual trans. I would like to get it done before the snow falls, but I only have one day off a week so it may be tough. Anyway, here are a few pics, cause we all know these types of threads are useless without pics
The old..
The new..
Some goodies..
3" Greddy DP
Koyo Radiator & Samco hoses
Greddy Intercooler , piping and BOV
Gauges and stuff
I also got an ACT clutch, Nismo Motor/Tranny mounts, perma-cool 14" electric fan with adj. thermostat and there are a couple of other things that I am thinking about upgrading. I know a bunch of people are going to say I should go KA-T or RB, but this is what I wanted to do and this is what I am doing. However, the motor that I am pulling out of the car is still STRONG and if I can find a decent coupe for cheap, I might throw the old motor in and do an HMT KA-T on it. Time and money will tell. I will keep ya's updated on the progress and maybe get some pics up of other stuff as I get it.
UPDATE STARTS HERE...
Ok, not much more progress, but some. I seperated the motor and tranny and just generally started taking things apart so I could clean ---- up. Here are the pics..
Motor minus the trans
Trans
Gotta keep the trans bolts in order
Mad tYte jDm clutch and PP...
Gonna be taking the flywheel for some resurfacing if I don't go with a lightened one
Removed the mounts and some accys and loosening up the gunk!
Turbo is in good shape, can't feel any shaft play..
Can't say the same for my garage..
Well, I still have a lot of work to do and I made NO progress today because I cut the grass then got really lazy I am still waiting on some parts to arrive which is total BS cause it has been over a month and a half. I think the next thing I am going to do is start ripping into the parts car so I can get it gone before the snow comes.

I have not driven the car in over a year because it has a bent wheel, so I am looking at going to a 5lug conversion so I can get a nice wheel with a fat lip. I am thinking of having the top of the car painted black to blend in the the windows and molding, kinda like my old Talon. Lastly, the wing will be swapped out for most likely a wangan style or back to nothing at all. Again, time and money will tell.

Wow you're gonna have some fun! My buddy did a det swap into his g20, but yours looks a hell of a lot cleaner. How many mile sare on the motor? Is it the t28 one or t25 one? Are you looking at getting a bigger turbo anytime soon? Good luck on it
