Definatly go ahead and replace the timing chain and guides while your in it. Big issue with these motors.

dont just replace.. convert it to double row.

and if you do the timing chain, replacing the oil pump wouldnt be a bad idea, you gotta take it off anyways, just get a full gasket kit, and you're going to have to loosen your oilpan to properly do the timing cover lower gasket or risk damaging the headgasket portion that goes between the head and timing cover. pain in the *** when you damage that

every time I see one of those trucks I think of Top Gear episodes with how to kill a toyota pickup.
The pickup would not die after the truck was drowned, hit with a wrecking ball, drop from a helicopter 30 ft, drove through a construction shack, had trailer drop on it, set on fire, and placed on top a 20 story building that was about to blown up.
