My New Ride... (return of the fez?)

https://www.homemadeturbo.com/ride/77civ/civic1.jpg

Oh yes, the 1977 Honda Civic CVCC SB2

I picked this up from the mitsu dealership next door, some old guy traded it in, and my buddy who worked over their knew that I would want it =) (thanks ted)

https://www.homemadeturbo.com/ride/77civ/civic2.jpg

It's in "ok" shape, no major dents, definatly has some cancer. I think its gonna be a fun little car to have a around.

https://www.homemadeturbo.com/ride/77civ/civic3.jpg

Beau's already talked me into doing a overly exagerated Supra style fart can off the rear of this thing. ::)

https://www.homemadeturbo.com/ride/77civ/civic4.jpg

As you can see some handy work has gone into this car, check out the plush seat! bungie cords and all, this fellow loved his old civic! Thinking about putting my sparco race seat in, hah

https://www.homemadeturbo.com/ride/77civ/civic5.jpg

Insides pretty decent, nice big ass shifter, with the massive 4speed tranny. The JVC tape deck puts out nice clarity through the stock blown factory speaker in the door.

https://www.homemadeturbo.com/ride/77civ/civic6.jpg

The powerplant, yes 1.2l of 52hp fury. Whats funny it really isnt to bad. It runs and drives pretty good.

What is the "Fez" ...
https://www.homemadeturbo.com/misc/fez.jpg

It was another SB1 civic I bought, this one was a 78 Civic, I ended up giving it to my friend for a birthday gift. Damn I miss that car, oh well my new one should do just fine!

Whats in the future.... who knows ;)

Jeff

Re:My New Ride... (return of the fez?)

I love it, thats just sweet.

You need to do some sort of swap though. How much do these things weight?

I saw a turbo haybusa 1300cc engine would be sweet.... 300 hp of six speed fury

Re:My New Ride... (return of the fez?)

wow, a 77 civic, now thats old school. thats a pretty cool little car. how much did you pay for that? that could be a good sleeper. that car has to be light as hell.

biggmike 02-08-2004 07:38 PM

Re:My New Ride... (return of the fez?)

i say ---- the swap and do an old school build up, i think jackson racing use to upgrade these cars ill scan the book and upload the page of them turboing this engine i believe. is this the one where the intake and exhaust ports are on the same side?

HMT-Admin 02-08-2004 07:39 PM

Re:My New Ride... (return of the fez?)

as far as "modding it" or swapping out the engine for something cool, not really on the list right now of things. But maybe in the future, plenty of room in the engine bay for a B series.

I lowered it the other day, dropped it down about 1.5 inchs, and I flipped the aircleaner lid upside down to get some serious ponies out of her, hah

to bad SB1's use a 4x120 bolt pattern which is literally unheard of, so no bling blingers on this car. :-\

Re:My New Ride... (return of the fez?)

reminds me of my '77 accord hatch...cancer and oxidizing paint is commonplace on those...they all rusted from the insides out from being shipped over and the steel was never treated for that and the paints were not multi-stage back then or the clear coats not thick at all.

Jackson racing used the cnadian cvcc motors "73 civic hatches (the REALLY small ones) said he ran 14's on a cvcc in a '73 hatch on boost and nitrous. he built a sick turbo one for ice racing in minnesota.

Re:My New Ride... (return of the fez?)

Yeah, nice car Jeff.

A friend of mine had one of those but it was an automatic, believe the thing drove as fast forward as backwards.

Anyway, you definatly have to put in a nice turboed engine!!

Hmm, just shy of the HP of an HF CRX. Probably a bit lighter too. I don't see why it couldn't be a decent little car to drive around in.

Re:My New Ride... (return of the fez?)

Damn I actually like!! I would paint it black as hell and have that thing pimped out. Doesnt look like anything would be too expensive to fix either. Good find! Now time for some pimpin chromed out 18's haha.
