Its fun to try and get a civic going at a stop light then cover him in diesel soot and smoke him (no pun intended) when the light goes green.

Well, just like everything, there's always going to be good ones. We just see a shitty load of these in my shop with turbo and tranny problems. We rebuild probably 5-10 powerstroke trannys a month. ;D

Me and a couple shop buddies were going to write ford a thank you letter for keeping our paychecks rolling. :-X

that's precisely why I got the zf6 spd, because I know the auto trannies are the weak points of these trucks. besides, I hate automatics. >:D

I'll agree that the new 6.0l trucks are a pile- the motors just plain suck, I worked at a ford dealer for a bit and these things had waaay too many problems. they tried to fix it for a few years, but they're scrapping the motor altogether now. for the '07 model year they're putting out a brand new 6.4l twin turbo motor. Should be pretty pimp.

for the record, my motor is the 7.3l- and I've got the early model block that came with forged rods instead of powdered metal rods. this means I should be able to make around 450whp and 850lb ft. of torque before I have to upgrade anything with the block. I'll keep you all informed when I get near that #

thanks for all the replies.
when I get done with this thing, it should give a lot of imports a run for their money- and still drive in the winter and take my motorcycle to the track....

Does it really weigh 7000 pounds? My 97 E350 loaded to the fucken max going to the dump weighed just over 6000. Are the seats made out of lead or something? ???
