Yeah a major *** kicking is in order.

Find out who it is, beat his *** with a bat, not in the head, but a hit hard in each side of the ribs, knees, shoulders and a few more in the sides should do it.

^^ Prepared indeed. Lets hope you don't have to use it. The fact that you could point it someone should diffuse most situations... unless they had a gun to point back at you

I agree, but in all reality if I am forced to draw my gun on someone it is already past the point of no return.

first line of defense would be my hands
second would be the hardcore pepper spray
third would be the gun
the knife is mainly a tool i use all the time, but would become backup to the gun

I guess in the above situation I would draw the gun and tell him to drop the bat, but if he didn't immediately do so it'd be the end of that.

The handful of people I know that I wouldn't like to get in a fistfight with, meaning they're the sort who'd give you more than a bloody nose, without fail slap guns pointed at them out of their way and pile drive your face twice as hard. Most people who draw and point to get respect are chumps with no spine and aren't going to fire anyway.

When Horror Movie Rob saw me riding with Goforth and tried to point a freaking .22 derringer out the window, Goforth didn't miss a beat and simultaneously lobbed an Axe bottle out the window at Rob and tried to run Rob into a concrete pillar on an underpass @ 85 mph while towing the CRX. He came over so hard on the boy I thought we'd lost the trailer with the CRX on it.

It was kind of a funny situation; Horror Movie Rob is four inches and fifty pounds bigger than me and I physically drug him down two flights of stairs for beating on his gf... fast forward a year later and he's got a gun to back him so he thinks he can impress someone. Most women beaters are spineless like that, they have to have a gun to back their ---- up and even then they don't get any respect.

Pretty much.

The only time you'll get a chance from someone prepared to kill you (as opposed to the chump who 95% likely doesn't have the guts to pull the trigger) is from a police officer. A fifth of those guys really really really want you to give them an excuse to kill you while the rest are merely prepared to drop you if you're mentally defective.

Yeah, if you pull a gun to "diffuse" a situation like that... be prepared to goto jail unless something criminal was going on... You'll get a brandishing weapons charge... and more than likely would lose your ccw.

With the whole bat situation, I would say you're entitled to at least grip your gun and advise the person of what you're holding.

Before anyone goes any farther with 'laws' make sure you know that every state varies on what is considered legal. Your right that you would get a brandishing a weapon charge if you just pulled your gun on someone for no reason. From state to state that can range from a misdomeaner to a felony.

In Nevada it would be completely legal for me to draw my weapon on anyone threatening me with ANY type of weapon. It could be a butter knife, I would still draw. Regardless of the situation I really don't want to ever have to shoot someone so I will do anything I can to not, hence why I carry the pepper spray etc. But if another weapon is involved then that would change quickly.
