Hey man this sounds very familiar. I'm also dealing with a life long disease that I just found out about two weeks ago. I never knew what it felt like to be depressed...now i know. I am seriously thinking about stopping partying, but it's too hard. I am not a big fan of drugs, I've done those when I was younger.
I think I need therapy but I have no time. Having no time is not helping my situation because I have no time to sit down and relax. Currently I am going to school full time and working full time and it's very stressful, which doesn not help my health.

Hope you get through it man, but remember that you're not alone.

It saddens me to hear that many of you have a "life sucks and then you die" attitude. I agree that many setbacks in life are preparation for harder trials, but not because of luck or fate, but because we learn about ourselves anytime we are stretched and forced to grow. We all have our messes and our successes, and I have found that living a life dedicated to Jesus Christ has been the only thing that has made a difference. Partying is short-lived, cars are temporary and surface, even girls are imperfect when it comes to complete happiness. My circumstances are not as rough as yours, Travis, but rest assured my joy has been found in Christ's salvation alone and nothing else. A freshman at my college died this weekend in a motorcycle accident, and everyone here is taking it pretty hard, but my college is a functional Christian community and we have found peace in knowing that God will find a way to work out the best in the midst of a tragedy. I know many of you guys may write off what I have to say as religious jargon or worthless rambling, but it's not just religion -- it's my life, and it's true for many others around me as well. IM me if any of you want to talk sometime.

Travis, I know how you feel. Some days you don't get out of bed, some days you do even when you don't want to. Some days are really really good - sometimes I think the good days are a setup for a perpetual fall from grace I've undergone my whole life, sometimes I think all the pain made me so I can appreciate the good times where maybe I wouldn't otherwise.

Good luck with it, but I think you're making a mistake stepping away from the car scene. Hobbies are what distract you and get you through the hard parts in life.

i agree, noone would appreciate the good things if we didn't have to go through the "----". also agree about the hobbies, if you don't keep yourself busy, you have too much time to dwell on things= no good ;)

Stay in it, when things get me down, and they do, alot, I just tink about numbers. (AR ratios, PSI, C/R, R/S ratios, just any number i can think of that has to do with a car) and then it starts a big long train of thought about cars and i forget whatever it was I was bumming on.

Yeah man... dont stress out on things too much... as long as your still breathing and you have a pulse... youll be alright.....

And hapiness... well we all cant be happy all the time...

Hapiness comes in small packages.... its like getting head from a gorgeous chick...... or like taking the first bite of a cheeseburger when you havent eatn for days... Or maybe eating your whole birthday cake all by yourself.....

Sure these things may seem insignificant, or silly at the most.... but its the little things that we must treasure that eventually add up and make life worth living......
