my life is going down the drain.

ya, my life is pretty much fucked right now. about a month ago, a good friend and her mom were in an accident and her mom died, and no one would ever tell me what happened to her. well, tonight i found out. over a month what happened was a big secret from me, and finding out tonight that she was paralized from waist down and on life support. last night, another chick friend was in the same city visiting and she was hit by a semi, killing her. too top that off, my best friend with a 91 Mazda B2600i, that was so ------ awsome, with a 4 " lift, 33 super swamps, warn winch, piaa off-road lights, rolled it last night 4x4'ing since there was fresh snow. well he had a few beer, and got adventurous like always, tried climbing up a nice hill and tipped to the right, with his left arm out, squashing it. he went to a major city today for an operation to fix it. anyways, my parents split 5 weeks ago, and its been a mega down fall for me, and i got a nice job with good pay, and all i bought was smokes and beer. i was gonna look at a Civ today, but, ya, all this bullshit that happened hit me hard, so im just gonna leave the car scene for awhile till i get my head back on. i figured i'd let you guys know, just because everyone here is supportive towards harsh ----.

Travis. :-* ... :P

Re:my life is going down the drain.

Sounds like a really bad chain of events there. Your life seems to be going alright but your friends seem to be doing badly. Its affecting you but your life is still in good shape dont forget that.

Your friend will learn from what happened the other night as will you. Personally cars help me to calm down and clear my head, it gets my mind off of other things when I work on them.

Sorry to hear about all this misfortune though, just try to be positive about things if you can.

I hope things look better for you, but I can compete, my cat died of kidney problems a week or 2 ago and I fucked up my engine by over heating it because my 15 year old temp gauge wire broke off (cracked radiator beyond repair and filled engine with coolant, hopefully it was just the head which I had machined)

and also, I don't think you're the youngest member, try beating me: dob 12-26-86

Not that this compares to your story, but I drove 3 hours just to ride for like 20 minutes. My friends bike blew up out in the middle of bumb ---- egypt within 15 minutes of riding. I can't explain how let down I was/am. I spent all week getting my damn bike ready for this weekend and it's all fucked. Oh well, ---- happens. It's bound to get better. :-\ Oh, my friend that blew his bike up, I just found out that she has cancer and it's ------ing all over her body. I didn't want to ask too many questions because it was obviously a touchy subject, but I doubt she has too much longer to live. :'( Life sucks sometimes, but that is just the way life goes.

Re:my life is going down the drain.

You have to realize that life is just a big game. Everything that happens is just preparing you to learn to deal with further hurdles. It sucks when bad things happen to us mentally, but the more things that happen, the better prepaired you are to deal with things down the road. Like when you have a family/business/house and things go wrong, you will know what to do because of the mental stress you will have already gone through. IMO

Hate to get all psychologist, but it's just the way I see it. Good luck. ;)

everyone who responded seem to have something interesting to say. I really feel for you man, just keep your head up. You cant control anything in this life and there are no guarantees. Were all here to suffer but we can still be happy people. Life is a test for all of us and if it was a walk in the park for anyone then this would be called pleasantville and not earth. Keep bumpin the westside connection, get some answers from ur parents and let them comfort u in this hard time

Re:my life is going down the drain.

hey, sometimes life stops takes a huge dump on you. At that point there is one choice you have to make. Are you going to wallow around in the ---- and feel like you can't do anything about it, or are you going to get a hose and spray yourself off. I understand all too well how some things just happen, they happen to everyone at some point in life, and they happen repeatedly enough to make you say "---- it". It's not a bad thing to feel like ---- when things happen, but at some point you have to get out of the ---- and clean yourself off. Baggage is heavy, good luck.

My older brother died, I was diagnosed with a lifelong disease that's only gonna get worse, my cousin was shot and sent to prison for two years, I developed a "love hate relationship" with heavy drugs and alcohol especially all within the span of 2 years.

I'm now transferring to another college to change my scene, going to AA counseling and I've got my body in check so I'll live longer. Does that bring people back from the dead? No. But I'M HAPPIER.

Hey man this sounds very familiar. I'm also dealing with a life long disease that I just found out about two weeks ago. I never knew what it felt like to be depressed...now i know. I am seriously thinking about stopping partying, but it's too hard. I am not a big fan of drugs, I've done those when I was younger.
I think I need therapy but I have no time. Having no time is not helping my situation because I have no time to sit down and relax. Currently I am going to school full time and working full time and it's very stressful, which doesn not help my health.

Hope you get through it man, but remember that you're not alone.

Re:my life is going down the drain.

It saddens me to hear that many of you have a "life sucks and then you die" attitude. I agree that many setbacks in life are preparation for harder trials, but not because of luck or fate, but because we learn about ourselves anytime we are stretched and forced to grow. We all have our messes and our successes, and I have found that living a life dedicated to Jesus Christ has been the only thing that has made a difference. Partying is short-lived, cars are temporary and surface, even girls are imperfect when it comes to complete happiness. My circumstances are not as rough as yours, Travis, but rest assured my joy has been found in Christ's salvation alone and nothing else. A freshman at my college died this weekend in a motorcycle accident, and everyone here is taking it pretty hard, but my college is a functional Christian community and we have found peace in knowing that God will find a way to work out the best in the midst of a tragedy. I know many of you guys may write off what I have to say as religious jargon or worthless rambling, but it's not just religion -- it's my life, and it's true for many others around me as well. IM me if any of you want to talk sometime.

Travis, I know how you feel. Some days you don't get out of bed, some days you do even when you don't want to. Some days are really really good - sometimes I think the good days are a setup for a perpetual fall from grace I've undergone my whole life, sometimes I think all the pain made me so I can appreciate the good times where maybe I wouldn't otherwise.

Good luck with it, but I think you're making a mistake stepping away from the car scene. Hobbies are what distract you and get you through the hard parts in life.

i agree, noone would appreciate the good things if we didn't have to go through the "----". also agree about the hobbies, if you don't keep yourself busy, you have too much time to dwell on things= no good ;)

Stay in it, when things get me down, and they do, alot, I just tink about numbers. (AR ratios, PSI, C/R, R/S ratios, just any number i can think of that has to do with a car) and then it starts a big long train of thought about cars and i forget whatever it was I was bumming on.

Yeah man... dont stress out on things too much... as long as your still breathing and you have a pulse... youll be alright.....

And hapiness... well we all cant be happy all the time...

Hapiness comes in small packages.... its like getting head from a gorgeous chick...... or like taking the first bite of a cheeseburger when you havent eatn for days... Or maybe eating your whole birthday cake all by yourself.....

Sure these things may seem insignificant, or silly at the most.... but its the little things that we must treasure that eventually add up and make life worth living......
