The launch looks good, could just be his tires that suck.

Re: My friend Evo.
Reason I say it can go 8's is this.
My pals chevelle just went 8.86@154 w/ a 1.3x 60.
BUT this car is NOT steady down the track. It loses tons of time going up down and side to side. And the rear endgets loose right about 1200ft.
That evo doesnt lose anything going down that track.
Previously it went 8.96@151 w/ 1.4x. This is with less cam and a couple minor details.
That evo looks like it will gain 2-3 mph alone in driving.

I'd be surprised to see it go 8's how it sits. As a rule of thumb in the drag racing world you need 150 mph car and a GOOD chassis to go 8.99. That car is losing tons of time during the shifts and he is many tenths slow to 60' of where a comparable rear wheel drive drag car would be. He is going to need some chassis work/a decent driver or a bunch more steam up top to make up for it.
Thats how I see it anyway, and I fully expect for JD to tell me my car is a piece of ---- as usual, however irrelevant it might be.

Bushur's Evo is hitting 8.9's at 162, so I dunno about 8s as this car sits. It's supposed to be his street car, he daily drives it, so it might be soft in the 60' department, too. There's also a good chance that the force of a 1.6 60' is what destroys their transmissions. :P
Those chassis have potential but there's something wierd about them. Watching the one crxvtec91 posted again, I really do think it's gearing is way too short of the power level. If it were my car I'd launch in second gear with the boost cranked up; easier to launch and you don't lose so much time shifting or trying to feather into second.
1Fat68, I only developed a problem with your car when I found out it only made 300 whp. That's like building a drag Honda to make 140 whp. Good job. I'll refrain from excessively bagging on the car if you don't bring it up until you've fixed it's obvious problem, ok?
