My Experience with SSautochrome!!

Well, for my HMT project, which is a 1998 Grand Prix GTP, I'm turboing the car cuz the blower wasn't good enough and I needed a intercooler.

I looked around lots and looked at many different options from custom coach to precision to PWR to spearco etc. but there was no way I could pass up the SSauto FMIC because of the size and the price. I won a auction of theirs on E-bay for a 24"x12"x4" intercooler, the initial bid was $185 and buy it now was $249, I got it at $185. They had clearly stated the shipping cost to me in Canada of $35 via fedex (Not bad compared to $28 for US) and a $3 insurance. As soon as I won the auction on Tuesday, they send me an invoice, I went on their website and paid using my Credit Card, then got a notification that since I was paying on a Tuesday, my item would ship on Friday and would take 5-10 business days.

Wednesday morning, I get an e-mail from Fedex saying my package was shipping and gave me a tracking number. I then shortly after get an e-mail from SSauto saying that it was shipping.

Thursday morning I get a call from Fedex asking me if I wanted them or someone else to clear it through customs, they said it was a "radiator" and valued at $18..lol..I didn't ask SSauto to declare a different value so that I wouldn't get dinged the customs or anything, they just did it. so I tell them to go ahead and clear it.

Friday morning, ring on the doorbell and Fedex has is here with my intercooler...I almost hug the woman ;) then I open up the box, the sexiest $185 intercooler I have ever seen. I visually inspected it for problems with the welds, didn't see any but I will be pressure testing it to make sure. Then I proceed to masturbate all over the core.

all in all, I would rate this experience with dealing with SSauto on ebay as INSANELY AMAZING!!!! I was really sceptical before but wow, if only they had other good products I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

with what? A intercooler? lol

it's not like it's a cheap thin gauge turbo manifold that cracks, or a turbocharger with subpar bearings, it's a intercooler.

I almost just took my 2 audi5000 cores, welded them together and made some end tanks, I'm pretty sure this will perform a zillion times better for me.

let see some pics of what you got vs the picture in the auction. its hard to screw up an intercooler, i'd pimp one.
