Hmm......

Skyline GTR nur spec 7.52
Porsche 996 Turbo 02' 7.56

Holy ---- you mean the "race spec" skyline is 4 sec faster on a high speed track than your basic run of the mill 996TT

Take my name off the "wish I had a skyline" list. It does not impress.

Compared to the GT3, GT2, Carrera GT, and anything that says ferrari on it, the skyline is nothing in the corners.

I would love to have an f355. I don't care if it falls apart every 4 weeks, it's an awesome car.

Ferrari's do have more down-time than a harley, but my understanding from some of the "friends" at the ferrari stealership is that the f355 is one of the better machines with the name.

Supposedly the 360/430 chassis are stupidly unreliable. Rumors of cars on cinderblocks in the shop because of wheel bearings. SHUDDER>>>

Like JD said, most everything Porsche has now seems like japanese mentality of building cars......hell all of our manual transmissions and all the cayenne autos are built in japan. Toyota has a little team of analysts that go into a corp. and tell them what their doing wrong. Thats what happened to Porsche in 96' hince the watercooled 911's and boxsters lol.

i poked my head under a near new boxster not long after they came out...

it had 25000km on it...

it was leaking oil pretty bad.

jap > euro > american > ozzy for build. the analysts may have gone in, but you cant out toyota toyota.

typically bike manufacturers do the best job, hence yamaha is cast into the really good toyota heads...

however, its not all about the engine, the rest of the car must be up to par as well, and nissan have(had) it right with the skyline.

ps, the r34 gtr sold around 12k units, and including 1000 nur models. 750 v and 250 m.
circa 15k of r33 gtr
circa 50k of r32 gtr

at the end of the day, power = torque and rpm
rpm = stroke and head/cam design
torque = capacity and pressure ratio and head design and cams
by nature of a smaller engine, overall vehicle dynamics (which do matter to some people) can remain good whilst still pushing out respectable power due to rpm and pressure ratio and good, ney, great VE...

this is my last OT post in this thread, this guy has suffered enough disrespect already. talk all the ---- you want about ls1/xyz and i'll just ignore it.

good luck with your campaign to free your old man!
