MY CAR HOPS WHY???
I RECENTLY REPLACED MY STOCK CLUTCH IN MY 00 CIVIC WITH A ACT STAGE1. THE FLY-WHEEL HAS BEEN RESURFACED. NOW THE CAR HAS THE TENDENCY TO HOP WHEN TAKING OFF IN 1ST GEAR WHEN JUST DRIVING NORMAL. SOMETIIME IT DOES IT SOMETIMES IT DOSNET. WHAT WOULD POSSIBLY BE THE CAUSE OF THIS? MY FRIEND WITH AN INTEGRA HAS THE SAME PROBLEM.

Re:MY CAR HOPS WHY???
it could be the way you are clutching it at the time or what not, does it happen at the same situation every time it hops? it could be the clutch breaking in in its early stages. But if it just happens when you are giving it a bit more gas than when you normally drive it that would be why. there isa lot of variables there and youll need to track it a bit to find out wht the specific cause is.

Re:MY CAR HOPS WHY???
I find that with a performance clutch you have to give it a little more gas to get into 1st smoothly. Try starting into the gear around 2k.
Don't just dump the clutch at 2k. but drive normally but starting at 2k.

Re:MY CAR HOPS WHY???
SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS The car hops just driving normal what i mean is that when i go to take off from a light i let off the clutch around 2000 to 2500rpm and the car will SOMETIMES hop. even if i then put the clutch back in rev to 3000 and let off it normally it will still hop but only for a second.

Re:MY CAR HOPS WHY???
To make this simple for you.. Front wheel drive sucks. Your wheel hopping because your riding the line with traction. The way to try and fix this is either get really sticky tires. Lower the car with stiffer springs. Get suspension and motor mounts and some sort of aftermarket traction bars. Or. Don't get on it and learn to take off below 3k rpm. Preloading the clutch helps also.
