I'm not saying anything that isn't the truth, and I'm not wishing anyone harm. I'm pretty confident that I won't get banned... you see, Pat, the problem with you is that on some level you are a nice guy. Engloid is a nice guy, for that matter. People can tell that.

I'm a really nice guy, but when I post I am a straight forward dick and when I think I am right or that you are wrong I will let you know. I just see too many stupid people and it pisses me off.

Oh and I think the Matt guy that had my turbo kit was the person that stole my car. I think he just said Ryan Champ did it so we wouldn't beat the ---- out of him. Of course they are all liars, so who knows. They both probably did it. I could really care less at this point.

You guys should have beat the living piss out of the kid that showed you where the car was and left him there in the woods for the wolves.... Obviously if he knew where the car was he was a major player in the whole theft.... :7

Haha back from the dead! Well I guess it wasn't that dead. I think stealthmode is shipping my feed line, then all I need is an ecu and wastegate before it will be back to normal (had to borrow an ecu and wg to move it).

is the key cylinder (internals) all messed up only or is the whole key cylinder broken too?
also, is the switch still okay? or broke off?

I had to replace 3 of these on 3 cars :(

Is the switch that white thingy? Yeah that is still there. I think the whole key cylinder part is out in the woods or something, it might be in my car, but I'll have to check.

Re: My car got jacked... (Update! Car recovered!) ::PICS::

If it's just the cylinder, you can buy a replacement, but more than likely will be a different key from the doors. I purchased one, years ago for my old civic for $90, Pepboys. Next time I had to do this, I found one from a parts car that I had a key for it, drilled the screws/rivets that hold it in place and replaced the whole thing.

If you can find one at a junkyard with the key, it might be cheaper to do. A good locksmith can make a key from a cylinder also.

Or you can get an universal crappy $5.00 ignition switch for a tractor from walmart, but that's not safe at all :-\

Sounds like a pain in the ass. I think I am getting a little angry now.

Re: My car got jacked... (Update! Car recovered!) ::PICS::

Make sure the ignition switch (white thing) isnt chewed up inside from a screw driver.
If you have access to a junkyard, get the switch with connected wiring. (other side is just a couple plugs)
Get the cylinder unit. (aluminum part)
Pep boys has replacement key cylinder locks (inside part) with new keys for around $40. Or the whole unit for more $.

If you go to the junk, make sure to brind needle nose pliers and flathead to get the 2 "round head" bolts that hold the unit in place.

The easiest thing would be to get a whole replacement. Take the two screws out, unplug I think two plugs, and replace everything back. But still one key to open the car, another key to turn it on.

If it costs even close to that much I am just going to say ---- it and disable and pull the ECU everytime I leave my car.

Re: My car got jacked... (Update! Car recovered!) ::PICS::

Just buy an ignition switch like someone on here said already. Make sure it comes with a key.

Once you install that, remove your door cylinders, trunk cylinder, and other optional cylinders (vallet and rear seat lock), take them to a locksmith, and get them coded to your key. That is the easiest way..

I had to do this when I bought my EX because it had been stolen previously, and I hated the idea of having two keys.

I get the work done for about $8 per cylinder locally, you should be able to have it done pretty cheap as well.

beerbongskickass 06-21-2006 10:49 AM

Re: My car got jacked... (Update! Car recovered!) ::PICS::

I know a couple locksmiths, but removing the key cylinders sounds like a lot of work. I guess it depends on how lazy I am that day. I'll proly do the locks the weekend after this weekend. I should have everything done by then.

95BoostedSol 06-21-2006 12:44 PM

Re: My car got jacked... (Update! Car recovered!) ::PICS::

Removing the door panels is the only thing you really have to work with to get the door cylinders out.. They are held in by really small U clips, then all you have to do is remove them from the rod they slide on to.

As far as the trunk, it is as simple as pulling the plastic piece that surrounds the trunk latch, pulling back the carpet, and removing one 10mm bolt, then popping that cylinder off the rod as well. The other two would be the rear deck lock, and if you have one, the vallet lock. Those are both pretty self explanitory as well..

It would probably take 20 mins. max to remove them all.

I guess that doesn't sound too bad. I'll give that a try this weekend. Need to get enough beer to last me though. :P

But you guys have always been my heros! it was a great story to read.

Hope you can figure out what you need to and fix everything.

Re: My car got jacked... (Update! Car recovered!) ::PICS::

Thanks. I have a new oil feed line on the way as we speak thanks to stevemode. I ordered a new wastegate a couple days ago, so that should be here shortly as well. I might be getting a free ECU too, that's the only thing I have left to get. Then the ignition needs fixed, which I will do this weekend. I am going to get my alarm fixed or just get a better one too before I park it outside again.
