not the shaft, the ball joint which is the part that the nut is holding onto on the end of the tie rod. it won't be stuck on real hard, just a tap will get it out. whatever you do don't try prying off the tie rod.

the tie rod end has a joint built into the end but it ist not "the ball joint" the ball joints on your car are at the top and bottom of the spindle. there is a threaded end on the inside of the car with a jam nut. there is also a castle nut with a cotter pin on the outside of the car. 1 remove cotter pin 2 remove castle nut 3 you could try just whacking the joint witha ball pien but you should use a pickle fork 4 count threads from jam nut 5 loosen jam nut 6 remove tie rod end and the part will probably be 9.99 at pep boys good luck do it yourself you don't need help |
