If nanotubule research continues at the rate it's going now we could potentially have super lightweight wings made of carbon filaments that contract and expand when given an electric charge within the next 30 or so years. My school is doing a ton of nanotubule research.

Someday it may be possible to fly around in 1 or 2 atom thick super strong wings of carbon fiber... super JDM y0!

Well yes, technically that would be the more scientific definition.

 

I would love to do that. They get so close to the rocks that you'd think that they could land by foot or something. Travel time is enlarged by how much time ya think with the wings? I'd say about 1 min.
