People have had alot of problems with those turbos. Mainly smoking problems because the rebuilds were not done correctly.

Yep, the balancing was not done or not done properly and I've heard alot of their turbo's seize up due to the compressor wheel hitting the hosing.

i noticed that you were one of the people who didn't have a bad experience with this turbo on your friends A6, is it still running fine? and, what does this turbo need to be sufficient? obviously, a different turbo is better, but, if this is the one that you had would re-balancing it fix the problem? holla....

These knock off turbos need all new internals, backplate, turbine shaft and thrust system replaced by authentic garrett parts in order to become as reliable as a real garrett turbo.
I can take care of it if you want.
