Motherfucking Cops!!!!Just a rant!!!!!!
 

Well I finally took out the hatch to work, after months of problems after problems, the V-afc install went great last Saturday, and the car runs good, only 4psi, but it runs fine. Well I get up early to get my downpipe finished, I needed the flange to connect it to the exhaust.


So I go from my house to the only shop willing to do work like that, 30 min drive, so far so good, I'm staying out of boost most of the time, I don't want to cause any problems. Get to the shop, they fixed me up, and I get out of there around 8:25 am, I have to be at work at 8:30, no problem, I'm only like 8 min away, and they don't care at work if I get there a little late.

So I was coming over to work, and decide to stop at a gas station to buy me a drink, i'm going to be late already so 5 more min won't matter. I park, get out of the car and when I turned around to go inside the store there's a bitch on a motorcycle pulling me over.

She said I was swerving(sp) thru traffic, that my exhaust was too loud, bullshit it's just shiny, and that I wasn't wearing my seatbealt, that's when I jumped up, I never, ever, ever drive without my seatbelt, I'm not that stupid. Well she tells me that when I went by her I wasnt. Now this is after I missed the entrance to the store, drive like 500 feet to a turning lane, did a u-turn, then drove to a traffic light, waited for the green turn signal, do another u-turn, and park in the gas station. She asked me for all the papers and ----, then as a reflection, I do this every time I'm stading, I put both of my hands like halfway inside my pockets, she freaked out, and started yelling at me to take them out. I did, then after like 5 minutes, I walk and stand right behind the car on the hatch, and accidentally, again is just an involuntary reaction, I did put my hands in my pockets again, she again told me rudely to take them out, I understand that it's for her safety, but what am I going to do, shoot her with my imaginary gun, in front of the gas station, a lot of people, and a bunch of other cops that are going up and down the road.

BULLSHIT, she just pulled me over because I drive a civic. The clerk in the store was looking from inside and told me the same thing, that he saw me doing the whole thing and I didn't do anything. Needless to say, it's get the people day, because while I was there I saw 5 other cars get pulled over in 10 minutes I was waiting for her ticket. She only gave me an modified loud exhaust ticket. Of course, i didn't do anything else, and you all know a turbo exhaust is not much louder than a regular car.

Im ------- pissed. 6 months driving the WRX, 4 months with a louder exhaust, never once, did I get followed, pulled over or harrased, the first day out with the Civic, bang, another stupid ticket.

I'm sick and tired of this bullshit tickets, she told me that modifying in any way your factory exhaust it's illegal, I was like mam, It's an 88, it's like 16 years old, the stock exhaust was rusted away, I replaced it with that, and a shiny muffler. She then told me If I had any problems to take it to court. Or pay the $49.00.

Just a long ass rant, I needed to tell someone, people at work just don't understand about cars.

That's bullshit man, fight it. I had the same problem with an ------- cop in my town, he pulled me over because I was going "65 mph or so in a 35"..THE DAY BEFORE. At that zone, I don't care if you have ------- Beau's or Hotcheck's car, it aint getting up to 65 in time for you to slow down for the stop sign. He told me to stop being such a "------- hot dog" and that if he ever sees me driving on those roads again (sorry buddy, public roads, you can'd do ----) that he's going to "rip me out of my car and beat the piss out of me". I'm one of 3 or 4 people in this town that had a modified vehicle and he gets all pissy with me because I drove a CRX. My neighbor gets the same ----, he drives an RX-7 and is always accused of speeding or sumshit.

I just never liked the car, I like the first one, what 67, I like that body style, everything else it's pretty much the same to me, and most of the drivers, at least in FL, are stupid. I love mustangs, by the way, My brother has a 66 that is just finishing restoring, and a 99 with a Roush package.

By the way I still respect any fast car, any brand, it takes a lot to make a car quick, work, knowledge.

And to keep this in topic, I might fight it, It's just funny how it took her that long to pull me over. Funny thing is I lived in a small town, and they don't bother me for ----, they are all cool, but I work in a bigger Rice infested city that sucks ass, By the way this would be like my 5th exhaust ticket, 2 different cars, and maybe the 10th time pulled over for the same ----, I've gotten out of it a few times.

There was never a body style of Camaro's or Mustangs that I truly hated.. With Mustangs, the Fox body style was my least favorite, but I still like them.. With Camaro's, I don't like the newest body style. Don't know why.

My cousin is planning on getting a 502 (sorry if wrong size) and sticking it in CamaroZ28. That would be sick with a little TT setup ;)

Yeah.. lots of cops suck. Then there's those select few who are awesome, like the one who gave me step-dad beer when we went in to give a statement about my wreck. Gave him three Busch's, because he said he was a Heineken man, and the beers would just go to waste there. lol

That's the spirit, like I tell a lot of people....check out the National Motorist Association, and send out for their legal books. They contain all the info for filling lots and lots of "Motions of Discovery"...and lots and lots of tricks to waste the time of the officer that pulled you over (or at least her department's time). It does take some effort though, but it is worth it knowing that you're spending twice the city/state/county's money on manpower hours getting your info as it cost to actually pay and collect from the ticket.

Stories like that piss the hell out of me and make me want to run for a city office....while she was there in the parking lot ------- off...how many cars got broken into in her patrol area I wonder? I wish police would actually fight crime instead of waste everyone's damn time

That's my point. My county is actually one of the worst areas in the United States for drug problems, but yet they worry more about street racing and modified vehicles than the drug problem. Hell, they just redid the entire Main Street of Butler (from two lanes on each side to one) just to cut down on street racing.. but it also has cost the city tons of money to redo everything, to shut down the businesses for a day to do the painting, and there's more accidents than before.

I checked the law that she cited me on, it actually says something about dB levels in florida for cars not higher than 79dB, what car out there is so quiet. Either way she did not have a meter of any sort to test my car, so how can she know for a fact that I was violating the law.

I would have to agree. That the movie made things harder for me in some areas to drive. I had to put back my stock exhaust b/c of getting stopped to often. I had a cop question me on the parts i had on my car. I told him don't wory about what i have it's not illegal.

i hate cops.

i owned my crx all stock lookin, nothing special and got pulled over and searched for no reason.

Some1 kicked my brother's 2002 ford focus ZX3. He knows the person who's house it happened at. that person's dad is a cop, so needless to say the case got dismissed.

I might need to look into a more police/performance friendly exhaust. I wanted this car as a daily driver, because the WRX wastes too much gas, of course me redlining it 1st, 2nd and sometimes 3rd doesn't help, but the car is meant to be driven like that. Now if i'm going to get pulled over everyday in the civic, I'm going to really have to look into something else.

Maybe I just need to paint the muffler, black, and see what happens.

Um yeah you just might. How is she supposed to know you're NOT gonna pull out a gun, knife, grenade? She hasnt checked your pockets so you might have anything in there. Dont get pissed cause an officer wants to make sure they go home at night.

As far as why you got pulled over
316.272: Exhaust systems, prevention of noise. (1) Every motor vehicle shall at all times be equipped with an exhaust system in good working order and in constant operation, including muffler, manifold pipe, and tailpiping to prevent excessive or unusual noise.

I dont know what your exhaust sounds like but remember pretty much every law is open to interpretation. What is excessive/unusual to one officer may not be excessive/unusual to another. Regardless of dB levels you can still be pulled over.

That's why I said, it's was for her protection and that I understood why, but really, there where 2 other cops in bikes right across the street, and i was parked, and just leaning on my car, what could I do.

I understand they go thru a lot of bullcrap, so they have to be carefull.

Thats rediculous davcivic i got followed by a orlando cop on sat for a good 30 minutes becuase my exhaust is indy car loud literally and he never pulled me over just followed me she was just being a bitch and meeting the quota. >:(

Actually she was young, skinny, and not all that ugly. But whatever, I'm over it, I'm still pissed, but whatever.
Needless to say today I drove the WRX to work, I think cops think my big ass fart can on the Sube is stock, because they call it a performance car.

tekno9998: Well that sucks, and it's weird that they didn't do anything. Well usually Saturday nights they are looking for speeders and such, not really loud exhausts.
Oh and this happened in Kissimmee, the good ol' KPD, they really don't have anything else to do.

I agree here ^^ When Im pulled over I always keep inside the car with the lights turned on and hands on the wheel. I only move when instructed and tell the officer where Im going to reach before I reach there...I know that may be extreme, but they do have a loaded gun on them.

Chickenshit written laws like that are well, chickenshit. What is the Definition of Excessive or Unusual Noise well without a db meter you leave that up to individual interpretation, which in court of law holds water as good as a speghetti strainer. It also makes officers do something they are told not to do from day one of academy... YOU ARE NOT THERE TO INTERPRET LAW, BUT ENFORCE IT

^^^ I sure as hell never want a 4 year Crim/J Degree equiped police officer interpreting the rules of my local swimming pool, let alone the Local and state administrative codes. That is what elected judges are for. But since we all like adding assinine unenforcable laws, we put more and more decisions in the people who shouldnt be making them.

So lets say we arm our officers with man portable certified Db meters, then add the manpower hours to certify the officers in the equipment. $$$$$ get sucked up from budgets man portable Db meters that are accurate enough to stand in court are about as expensive as Ka narrow band rader/laser (dont get me started on the Bullshit envolved in speed enforcement). This strains already thin Police budgets, and prevents new officers from being hired and enforcing laws like say ummmm... Murder and Grand theft Auto.

Now Im never one to bitch without having an idea up my sleve...so here is my solution to a bitch ass problem. Take traffic enforcement 100% out of the hands of Local/County police. Create a seperate court/enforcement agency for traffic alone that answers to the department of transit.

Keep our officers on actual crime patrols instead of retarded speeding/exhaust stops. Now you might say "But the cops typically make most felony arrests at traffic stops" Well just what exactly does that say about their abilities to actually deture and stop crime, if they can only catch the crooks with broken taillights and expired tabs?

Im sorry for adding to the rant, but I get really pissed off on the subject
