Re: mother board for sli setup??

shitty thing about sli is, 2 7900gt's in sli get stoped on by an 8800gtx on its own. but, still are pretty damn good.

Dude! The vid card in your laptop is the best ---- ever, you said so yourself!

Ah, serously? I know ASUS or MSI make some good motherboards, but I'm not all up on the SLI stuffs. A guy I go to school with, bought a computer off him last semester, has two or three of the SLI setups and is a FPS freak. I can get some solid input on the subject from him if no one here steps up... it's not that I doubt there are multiple people here who know the subject chapter and verse, it just that, well, not many people here like you much.

You using AM2 or 939? Are you looking to just replace a MB for the sake of SLI, or are you building a complete new system?

Like I said... I would ask and relay correct info, and all anyone else is going to do is mock your ass. You can neither accept the reality of the situation, nor be grateful someone is willing to offer quality assistance. ::)

See? $250 for an SLI capable motherboard, and he believes some of them support dual video cards too!

LOL, no, only Chebbie I ever owned was a '78 G10 van with 250 inline 6, aka child molester van, that I picked up when I was 17 for $50 and drove for two years. It was a pretty good beater, I like some of their older stuff quite a bit, and only fools disrespect LSx. I'm kind of burnt out on old cars that need all sorts of work because they have deteriorated, and I won't own a fuel injected GM because I loathe their wiring, but I might make an exception on both counts if a sweet T-type came my way.

Eh, if you can't see how mycrx strokes people I can't explain it to you. I understand why mycrx might not bother you because scottsi never bothered me even when people hated him as flagrantly as they now hate mycrx. Just get some sleep, if you can, personally I need to be in class in a little more than three hours and I haven't slept. *sigh*

lol, i have class today at 5 pm, its 515 am right now lol. ill be hittin the sack soon. and about fuel injection on gms, ---- that was the first thing to go when i bought the car, carbed now. i will never do fuel injection on a gm car unless the car is staying factory. other than that, if its modified, i will only run after market parts that convert to carb. id love to have a carb'd zc for my hatch right now. mpfi just isnt workin for me and the cars been sitting the past 6 months now. i got somebody that wants it, but have to wait and see what happens before i can do anything else.

oh will a dohc zc carbed intake fit on a sohc d15b1 by chance? id trade my mpfi straight up for it ecu and all for everything to have the car running again.

I have always had a bias towards Abit motherboards...they can be a bit pricey, but have always worked well, overclocked well, yet still remain very reliable

No, I also have fast cars, a bag of shrooms Colleen was nice enough to bring me, and a functional brain. Being me soooo rules.

I also talked to Chris yesterday and got some pretty explicit recommendations and his number to give to you, but since you want to be a seething cockmonger I'll not bother.

You still need to read a ton of ---- before you "overclock" it. ----, you shouldn't even have to mess with the clock speeds with a decent ram set, mid range processor and an 8800gtx.

Screw intel, stick with AMD. They run a lot cooler and better for overclocking. Go with the A8n32-sli. You're guranteed to have both video cards operate at x16.

Re: mother board for sli setup??

Like rawr said, the DX10 boards are available, but you'll be waiting on the Software to catch up. So, basically, you can either spend a shitload on SLI now and get good graphics, or wait, spend less and get better graphics.

It's a matter of how soon you want to get this built.

AMD has never run cooler than Intel, and I'd like to see you overclocking an AMD so it runs as well as some of the Intel core stuff.
